MONITORING MISSION OF THE PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE WILL VISIT GEORGIA

Co-rapporteurs of the monitoring mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will visit Georgia on January 14-16. PACE stressed that this is “a regular monitoring visit and should not be considered as political support for the legitimacy or the views of the interlocutors they meet”.

GEORGIA’S PRIME MINISTER AND CHINESE AMBASSADOR DISCUSS COOPERATION ISSUES

Today, Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Chinese ambassador to Georgia Zhou Qian. As administration of the Georgian government reported, the parties discussed cooperation in the areas stipulated by the Strategic Partnership Agreement between Georgia and China, as well as positive dynamics of the development of trade and economic ties.

IN DECEMBER 2024, GEORGIA’S HICP INCREASED BY 2.4% Y-O-Y

In December 2024, compared to the same period of 2023, Georgia’s harmonized index of consumer price (HICP) has increased by 2.4%, Sakstat reported. In particular, growth was recorded in such groups, as hotels, cafes and restaurants (by 7.8%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (by 6.1%), education (by 5.4%), healthcare (by 4.4%), food and soft drinks (by 3.1%), etc.

“FINSPOT”: LOCAL GREENHOUSE FARMS’ OPERATING PROFIT MARGIN IS WITHIN 5-15%, EBITDA MARGIN – 15-20%

In 2023, operating profit margin of LLC Greenhouse Holding (Planta) made up 5%, of LLC Herbia – 15%; EBITDA margin made up 15% and 20%, respectively, reports analytical website FinSpot, which analyzes the data of these two Georgian greenhouse farms. In the reporting year, Planta’s revenues amounted to 22.6 million lari.

Georgia for the first time participates in the US technology exhibition Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which takes place in Las Vegas, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported. The Ministry noted that the Georgian delegation received a special invitation from the organizers.
