Georgian Finance Ministry reported that in the 3rd quarter, treasury bills and treasury bonds of 415 million lari were issued. The volume did not change quarter-on-quarter, while increased by 6.4% year-on-year.

National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that as of September 30, commercial banks held governmental securities, emitted in national currency, totaling to 2.62 billion lari. The volume has increased by 8.6% quarter-on-quarter and by 17.9% year-on-year.

FINANCE MINISTRY: IFC PLANS TO INCREASE CREDITING IN LARI

Georgian Finance Ministry declared that International Finance Corporation (IFC, the World Bank (WB) group member) “plans to strengthen crediting in lari” with aim to support of larization process. As the Ministry noted, that became known at the meeting of the Minister Ivane Machavariani with IFC vice-president Georgina Baker.

IN 9 MONTHS, NATIONAL SUBSOIL AGENCY BROUGHT 50.7M LARI TO THE BUDGET

Georgian National Subsoil Agency declared that from auctions on subsoil development, held in 9 months of this year, central and local budgets of the country have gained 50.7 million lari. In total, 759 electronic auctions were announced during the reporting period.

AT THE BEGINNING OF NEXT YEAR, GEORGIA TO HOST DELEGATION OF GERMAN BUSINESSMEN

Delegation of German businessmen, led by representatives of Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, will visit Georgia in the 1st quarter of 2019, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared. The Ministry noted that the visit will be held within the decision, made during August visit to Georgia of German chancellor Angela Merkel.

CITRUSES HARVEST IN AJARA IS EXPECTED TO MAKE UP TO 55,000 T

Ajara Ministry of Agriculture reported that according to preliminary data, harvest of citruses in this year is expected to make up 50,000-55,000 t. Tangerines, intended for export, are packed by 30 citruses sorting enterprises, which total capacity exceeds 30,000 t, the Ministry noted.
