IN 2018, GEORGIA RECEIVED $35M WITHIN THE US FOREIGN MILITARY FINANCING

In 2018, Georgia received $35 million within the US Foreign Military Financing (FMF), report on execution of Georgia’s government program for 2018-2020 says. According to the report, the allocated funds are fully consumed by exercise and equipment programs and capacity raising of armed forces.

Today, the working meeting was held by initiative of the Parliament’s Committee on Branch Economy and Economic Policy, at which renewed legislation on state procurements was discussed. At the moment, at the stage of licensing and construction, there are 52 projects of power plants with estimated installed capacity totals to 1,562 MW, report on execution of Georgia’s government program for 2018-2020 says. As the report indicates, estimated investment cost of these projects reaches $2.7 billion.

DEPUTY FINANCE MINISTER: WITHIN ACTIONS ON ENERGY EFFICIENCY IMPROVEMENT, 25 OBJECTS ARE SELECTED

Georgia’s Deputy Finance Minister Giorgi Kakauridze reported that within the actions on energy efficiency improvement, 25 objects were selected, being proposed by municipalities. “The majority is educational institutions”, he noted.

Georgian seamen will be able to work legally on vessels of Germany and Croatia, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared. For that end, memorandums on recognition of seamen certificates were signed with Germany and Croatia today in Batumi.

On September 12-14, Batumi hosts International Maritime Forum, which is attended by up to 400 delegates from 53 countries.

Georgian National Agency of Public Register reported that works on description of settlements in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region are finished, being conducted within the project of development of national navigation system. According to the Agency, description of 3,241 objects, 8,833 buildings, 713 km of roads, etc.
