Georgia has improved its position by 3 steps in the new ranking of economic freedom of the Canadian Fraser Institute, reported Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. Now, Georgia occupies the 5th position among 165 countries (rating score – 8.26).

Georgian Finance Ministry’s State Treasury reported that fund for implementation of projects in regions allocated 113.68 million lari in 5 cases in the first half of this year. At that, factual expenses amounted to 110.74 million lari, making up 97.4% of total allocation.

Georgian Finance Ministry’s State Treasury reported that reserve fund of Georgian government allocated 7.68 million lari in 10 cases in the first half of this year. At that, factual expenses amounted to 7.08 million lari, making up 92% of total allocation.

Sakstat reported that average monthly number of local visitors aged 15 years and above amounted in Georgia in the 2nd quarter to 1.4 million. If compared with the same period of 2020, the number has increased 2.1 times (there was a lockdown in the country a year ago).

Georgian wine companies should be more ambitious to grab a greater market share in new target export markets, considers Galt&Taggart. According to the company, share of new export markets (the US, the UK, China, Japan, Germany, Poland and the Baltic States) in total export of Georgian wine increased from 10.9% in 2013 to 21.5% in the 1st half of this year.

IN H1, 5 COMPANIES ACCOUNTED FOR 77.3% OF TOTAL MEDICAL INSURANCE PREMIUM

Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that in total premium, attracted by Georgian insurance sector in the first half of this year in health (medical) insurance (194.9 million lari), 5 companies accounted for 77.3%, or 97.9 million lari. GPIH is still on the first position with 29.5% of total premium.
