FINANCE MINISTRY: AIIB INCLUDED PROJECT OF BATUMI BYPASS ROAD IN LIST OF THE FIRST 20 PROJECTS

Georgian Finance Ministry declared that Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has included project of Batumi bypass road in list of the first 20 projects, which are subject to financing. For financing of this project, AIIB allocates $114 million.

AMENDMENTS TO LAW “ON VINE AND WINE” APPROVED

At the plenary session on June 15, the Parliament approved in third (final) hearing amendments to law “On Vine and Wine”. As Agrarian Committee notes, the mentioned law was adopted in 1998 and no considerable amendments were made to it after 2002.

Sakstat reported that according to preliminary data of 2016, share of plant growing in total agricultural production made up 38%. In 2015, this indicator made up 44%, in 2014 – 48%.

“TI GEORGIA”: THERE ARE SIGNS OF CORRUPTION IN PROCESS OF LAND PRIVATIZATION IN TELETI VILLAGE OF GARDABANI MUNICIPALITY

TI Georgia, Georgian branch of Transparency International, declared that it has studied land privatization on area of 13,850 square m in village Teleti of Gardabani municipality (Kvemo Kartli region) and concluded that the process has signs of corruption. “As a result of actions of National Agency of State Property and local self-government, unequal environment was created in process of state property disposition for entities, interested in its acquisition”, the organization pointed.

ECONOMY MINISTRY: CO-FUNDING WITHIN PROGRAM OF ASSISTANCE TO MICRO AND SMALL BUSINESS AMOUNTS TO 22.94M LARI

Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported that as of June, state co-funding within the program of assistance to micro and small business amounted to 22.94 million lari. Support was received by 4,909 beneficiaries and 3,205 projects, which total investment amounts to 29.16 million lari, while number of employed totals to 8,000, the Ministry said.

ECONOMY MINISTRY: NATIONAL SEISMIC MAPS WILL BE CREATED IN GEORGIA

Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported that first working meeting with Canadian experts was held today for the purpose of creation of national seismic maps. As the Ministry pointed, its department of spatial arrangement and construction policy works on development of Eurocodes by means of which norms in construction sphere have to be brought in order.

According to the annual report of Sakstat, income of the statistical service from provision of paid information amounted in 2016 to 102,942 lari. Out of total, statistics of trade and foreign investments accounted for 65.1%.

NEW PRODUCTION LINE LAUNCHED IN BORJOMI BOTTLING PLANT #1

New production line, made by Italian CFT, was launched in Borjomi bottling plant #1, by means of which the plant will produce Borjomi mineral water in aluminum jars (0.33 l). “IDS Borjomi Georgia implemented the innovative project on the basis of 5-million reinvestment”, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared.

SLAUGHTERHOUSE TO BE ARRANGED IN KAZBEGI MUNICIPALITY

According to the government’s order, state-owned land plot of 2,150 square m with constructions in village Arsha of Kazbegi municipality (Mtskheta-Mtianeti region) will be handed over within “Produce in Georgia” state program to LLC Kazbeguri. The property is transferred through direct sale for symbolical price of 1 lari.
