IN 2023, GEORGIAN WINE EXPORT IN MONETARY EXPRESSION INCREASED BY 3%, IN NATURAL EXPRESSION – DECREASED BY 12%

In 2023, Georgia exported wine of $259 million to 66 countries, Georgian National Wine Agency reported, indicating that the volume has increase by 3% compared to 2022. In natural expression, wine export made up 89.5 million l, reducing by 12% year-on-year.

GEORGIAN PARLIAMENT APPROVED NEW PRIME MINISTER AND CABINET

On February 8, Georgian Parliament passed a vote of confidence in the new composition of the government, led by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze (84 votes pro, 10 votes against), as well as in the government program “For Building of a European State”. After the Premier’s order on ministers’ appointment, the Cabinet officially took office today.

SWEDISH TAX AUTHORITY TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO GEORGIAN REVENUE SERVICE

Today, Swedish Tax Agency and Georgian Revenue Service signed in Tbilisi a technical assistance agreement. The project, which is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), is calculated for 2024-2027, the Revenue Service reported.

GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT: WITH SUPPORT FROM WORLD BANK, STRATEGY AND ACTION PLAN FOR GREEN GROWTH TO BE PREPARED

During 2024, strategy and action plan for green growth will be prepared with support of the World Bank, indicates the government program “For Building of a European State” (submitted to Georgian Parliament together with the updated composition of the country’s Cabinet). REGULATORY COMMISSION: “GWP” WILL REPAY INCORRECTLY CHARGED 6M LARI TO CONSUMERS

GWP (Tbilisi water and sewerage company) will repay 6.05 million lari, incorrectly charged for sewerage services, to 11,938 consumers, Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission declared. The Commission made the corresponding decision on February 8 and gave the company 5 months for its fulfillment.
