CIVIL ORGANIZATIONS ON CASE OF “RUSTAVI-2”: NEW REALITY, WHICH AROSE AFTER EUROPEAN COURT DECISION, THREATENS TO PLURALISTIC MEDIA ENVIRONMENT
The new reality, which arose after decision of the European Court of Human Rights on case of Rustavi-2 TV company, “is a big challenge for fragile Georgian democracy and creates serious danger to pluralistic media environment”, Georgian civil organizations say in the statement, released today. “There are no doubts that change of owner of Rustavi-2 was within interest of the authorities, being openly declared by then more than once”, the organizations indicate.
