NBG: IN 2023, NUMBER OF DETECTED COUNTERFEIT LARI AND EURO BANKNOTES DECREASED, NUMBER OF DETECTED COUNTERFEIT DOLLAR BANKNOTES INCREASED

In 2023, examination was conducted of 3,440 suspicious lari banknotes, of which 1,258 (37%) turned out to be fake, National Bank of Georgia (NBG) indicates in the annual report. According to NBG, the number of identified false lari banknotes decreased by 58.1% compared to 2022.
