NBG: IN 2024, MODERATE WORSENING OF CURRENT ACCOUNT BALANCE IS EXPECTED

Against the background of high economic activity, growth of import is expected, as a result of which a moderate deterioration in the current account balance is expected in 2024 – to about 5.6% of GDP, National Bank of Georgia (NBG) said in the monetary policy report, published on July 30. In the 1^st quarter, the current account deficit made up 5% of GDP.
