DESPITE SUSPENSION OF ACCESSION NEGOTIATIONS, GEORGIA’S PREMIER CLAIMS THAT THE COUNTRY’S AUTHORITIES ARE COMMITTED TO THE EUROPEAN COURSE

“We are committed to the European course”, declared Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, who announced on November 28 a decision not to put on the agenda until end of 2028 the issue of opening accession negotiations with the EU.

“The question of opening negotiations does not give anything from a practical point of view, fulfilling the obligations provided for in the Association Agreement [with the EU] is a practical way to the EU”, Kobakhidze indicated at the briefing today.
