GEORGIA’S OMBUDSMAN: CRIMINAL ACTS OF INHUMAN AND HUMILIATING TREATMENT OF PEACEFUL PROTESTERS AND THEIR TARGETED CHASING ARE ALARMING

“Criminal acts of inhuman and humiliating treatment of peaceful protesters and their deliberate persecution, captured in video materials distributed by the media, are alarming”, Georgia’s Public Defender said in the statement today.

According to the Ombudsman, “Rally on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi, had a peaceful nature at 02:00 at night on November 29, and use of special means by law enforcement agencies to disperse the rally has violated freedom of assembly”.
