    GEORGIA TO CREATE ANTI-CORRUPTION BUREAU

    Legislative amendments, adopted by the Georgian Parliament, envisage creation of Anti-Corruption Bureau (as a legal entity of public law), which will act independently. At that, the Bureau will be accountable to the Parliament and the interdepartmental anti-corruption council.

    “TBC CAPITAL” FORECAST: GEORGIA’S ECONOMY WILL GROW BY 10% IN 2022 AND BY 3.5% IN 2023

    The baseline macroeconomic forecast of TBC Capital says that Georgia’s economy will grow by 10% in 2022, by 3.5% in 2023, and by 5.4% in 2024. The inflation rate is projected at 11.8%, 4% and 3%, respectively.


    “TBC CAPITAL” FORECAST: 30% OF MIGRANTS WILL LEAVE GEORGIA IN 2023

    TBC Capital indicates that currently, about 115,000 migrants reside in Georgia (who arrived after the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war), 70% of whom settled down in Tbilisi. The company forecasts that 30% of migrants will leave Georgia in 2023.


    USAID ALLOCATED GRANT FOR DEVELOPMENT OF FINANCIAL MARKET IN GEORGIA

    USAID has allocated a $220,000 grant for a program supporting development of financial market in Georgia. The program is designed for the next 2 years, National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported.


    IN GEORGIA, POPULATION’S ACCESS TO FIREWOOD RESOURCE IS EXTENDED UNTIL 2026

    Georgian Parliament decided to allow population of the country to have access to firewood resource until January 1, 2026.

    Starting from 2026, firewood cut will be carried out on the basis of tickets for timber harvesting.

    IN 2021, PROFIT OF JSC “POTI SEAPORT” DECREASED BY 31%

    In 2021, JSC Poti Seaport had net profit of 83.24 million lari. If compared with 2020, the volume has decreased by 31%.


    IN 2021, PROFIT OF LLC “BATUMI SEAPORT” DECREASED BY 33%

    In 2021, LLC Batumi Seaport had net profit of 9.9 million lari. If compared with 2020, the volume has decreased by 33%.


    LLC “BATUMI OIL TERMINAL” FINISHED 2021 WITH PROFIT

    In 2021, LLC Batumi Oil Terminal had net profit of 7.66 million lari. In 2020, the company reported loss of 5.22 million lari.
