    COMMUNICATION COMMISSION REJECTS CRITICISM OF NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS

    Georgian National Communication Commission urged non-governmental organizations “to treat own statements with bigger attention in order not to go beyond the law limits and not to mislead public”. The Commission replied this way to statement of Georgian Young Lawyers Association and TI Georgia, Georgian branch of Transparency International.

    THE GOVERNMENT TO BASE PLANNING OF THE BUDGET-2019 ON “RATHER CONSERVATIVE FORECAST”

    Georgian government said that it considers expedient to base planning of the state budget-2019 on “rather conservative forecast”. Tendencies in economy of some Georgia’s trade partner countries can have negative impact on external demand that will negatively affect Georgian export of goods and services, the government explained.


    THE GOVERNMENT: FORECAST OF TAX REVENUES FOR 2019 ENVISAGES OVER-FULFILLMENT OF PLAN ON THIS ARTICLE IN THE BUDGET OF 2018

    Georgian government declared that tax revenues in 2018 are expected to be over-fulfilled and the updated forecast makes up 10.5 billion lari.

    Tax revenues of 2019 are projected, taking into account the updated forecast, the government said, specifying that the planned volume makes up 11.2 billion lari, or 24.8% of GDP.


    BUDGET DEFICIT IN 2019 IS PLANNED AT 1.8%

    Georgian government reported that deficit of the consolidated budget for 2019, calculated according to national legislation, will make up 1.8% of GDP.

    In turn, the deficit, calculated according to the IMF methodology (operations with financial assets are considered as source of deficit formation), will make up 2.6%.


    EMISSION OF STATE SECURITIES IN 2019 IS PLANNED TO AMOUNT TO 500M LARI

    According to the draft budget-2019, plan for revenues, to be received under the article “growth of liabilities”, amounts to 2.16 billion lari. That sum includes growth of liabilities from emission of the state securities of 500 million lari.

    Works on building of reinforced concrete carcass of the new terminal at Kutaisi airport are completed, Georgian Airports Association reported. Completion of the whole building of the terminal is planned in 2019.

    AUDIT OF NBG TO BE CONDUCTED BY “KPMG” AGAIN

    Audit of reporting of National Bank of Georgia (NBG) for 2018-2019 will be conducted by KPMG, the Parliament declared. Such decision was made by the competition committee, which considered financial proposals of the competition’s participants.


    “BODORNAHES” PUT IN OPERATION

    BodornaHES, located in Dusheti municipality of Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, was put in operation today.

    The project was launched by Georgian Water&Power (GWP, water supply and sewerage of Tbilisi) in December 2017.


    ENERGY REGULATING COMMISSION TO CHECK 11 COMPANIES WITHIN “MYSTICAL CONSUMER” PROJECT

    Georgian National Water Supply and Energy Regulating Commission declared about launch of implementation of “mystical consumer” project in the country.

    Check within the project will apply to 11 companies and will estimate compliance of quality of service, provided by them to consumers, with established standards, the Commission said.


    “MYWAY AIRLINES” LAUNCHES REGULAR FLIGHTS TO KIEV

    On October 5, Georgian air carrier Myway Airlines will launch regular flights from Tbilisi to Kiev, Georgian Civil Aviation Agency reported. The airline got the corresponding permission on October 1.


    CUSTOMERS TO BE ABLE TO PAY BILLS AT RESTAURANT “SABATONI” BY GEORGIAN CRYPTOCURRENCY

    Memorandum, signed between Tbilisi restaurant Sabatoni and Luna Group, allows payment of bills at the restaurant by Georgian cryptocurrency (aisi coin).

    Giorgi Shervashidze, founder of Luna Group, pointed that this is the first precedent of such payment.
