    THE GOVERNMENT: STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION UNITS WILL BE CREATED IN ALL MINISTRIES

    Georgian government decided to create in all ministries structural units of strategic communication.

    The decision aims “decrease of anti-Western propaganda’s influence and increase of awareness of population on European and Euro-Atlantic integration of the country, as well as formation in the country of effective, coordinated and pro-active system of strategic communication”.

    AS OF OCTOBER 1, LONG-TERM CONSUMER LOANS INCREASED BY 10.1% Y-O-Y

    National Bank of Georgia reported that volume of long-term consumer loans, issued by Georgian banks as of October 1, made up 3.23 billion lari. The volume has increased by 3.8% quarter-on-quarter and by 10.1% year-on-year.


    AS OF OCTOBER 1, SHORT-TERM CONSUMER LOANS REDUCED BY 6.3% Y-O-Y

    National Bank of Georgia reported that volume of short-term consumer loans, issued by Georgian banks as of October 1, made up 561.96 million lari. The volume has decreased by 12% quarter-on-quarter and by 6.3% year-on-year.


    NBG: IN Q3, CREDIT ACTIVITY IN COMPARISON WITH Q2 DID NOT CHANGE NOTICEABLY

    In comparison with the 2nd quarter, credit activity in the 3rd quarter did not change noticeably, National Bank of Georgia (NBG) declared.

    NBG said that year-on-year growth of loan portfolio in September, excluding effect of exchange rate and transformation of one of microfinancial organizations into bank, made up 18.7%.


    MINISTRY OF REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND INFRASTRUCTURE: CURRENTLY, THE WB FUNDS REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS WITH $189M

    Georgian Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure reported that with assistance of the World Bank (WB) several programs of regional development are underway now, which funding totals to $189 million.

    In total, the WB allocated $832 million to rehabilitation of road projects in Georgia, the Ministry said, specifying that the sum includes $527 million, allocated for rehabilitation of East-West Highway (E60), while $305 million – to rehabilitation of local roads.

    “FITCH” ASSIGNED RATING TO “GEORGIAN LEASING COMPANY”

    Fitch Ratings declared about assignment of long-term issuer default rating “B+” with positive outlook to Georgian Leasing Company.

    The agency indicated support, which Georgian Leasing Company has from Sakartvelos Banki (Bank of Georgia), single owner of the company.


    “GLOBAL ENTERPRISES” TO BUILD SALT-PRODUCTION ENTERPRISE

    With assistance from “Produce in Georgia” state program, LLC Global Enterprises will built salt-production enterprise on Rustavi-Gardabani highway, Georgian National Agency of State Property declared. For construction of the enterprise, the Agency handed over a land plot of 15,512 square m to the company.

    GEORGIA CELEBRATED ANNIVERSARY OF BITCOIN

    Tbilisi hosted international conference, which was devoted to 10-year anniversary of bitcoin cryptocurrency.

    Among organizers of the event are Georgian Association of Digital Economy, Coinmania, Okros Satsmisi (Golden Fleece) and Luna Group.
