GEORGIAN PREMIER: WE WELCOME POSITIVE DYNAMICS IN TRADE AND ECONOMIC COOPERATION WITH ARMENIA

Today, Georgian delegation headed by Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili visited Armenia with a one-day visit.

“We welcome positive dynamics in bilateral trade and economic cooperation”, Kvirikashvili declared at the meeting of members of Georgian and Armenian governments.

GDP GROWTH IN JANUARY MADE UP 4.4%

Sakstat released estimation for January, saying that annual real GDP growth in this month made up 4.4%.

According to estimation, growth in January was observed in manufacturing, provision of communal, social and personal services, construction, trade, hotels and restaurants.




IN FEBRUARY ANNUAL INFLATION MADE 2.7%

Sakstat declared that annual inflation in February made up 2.7%. Inflation, measured in comparison with previous month (i.e. January), made up 0.2%.




NBG DRAFTED INSTRUCTION FOR BANKS ON REAL ESTATE ASSESSMENT

National Bank of Georgia (NBG) published draft of instruction for commercial banks on real estate assessment.

NBG indicated that rules and principles, which the instruction defines, are based on International Valuation Standards (IVS).




REHABILITATION OF KHORGA-KULEVI MOTOR ROAD TO BE FINISHED IN AUGUST

Rehabilitation of 16-km motor road Khorga-Kulevi in Khobi municipality (Samegrelo region) is underway, Roads Department reported. The works, being launched in June 2017, have to be finished in August 2018.




GIZ ASSISTS 19 GEORGIAN ENTREPRENEURS IN PASSING RETRAINING PROGRAM

With assistance of German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), 19 Georgian entrepreneurs take part in retraining program for managers, reported Produce in Georgia Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. This program, started on February 27, will be held through March 23.

USAID’S BENEFICIARY FARMERS TO JOIN SUPPLY NETWORK OF “GEORGIAN AGRO HOUSE”

USAID-funded project “Zrda” and company Kartuli Agro Sakhli (Georgian Agro House) signed memorandum of understanding.

The memorandum envisages support to the project’s beneficiary farmers in their join to supply network of Georgian Agro House and creation of fruits and vegetables market in 17 target municipalities.

WITH SUPPORT OF “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA”, “EDESI GROUP” MAKES TYPOGRAPHICAL PRODUCTION

With assistance of “Produce in Georgia” state program, LLC Edesi Group manufactures typographical printing plates and paper for ATMs, Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry’s Agency Produce in Georgia reported.

Investments in the enterprise amounted to 1.1 million lari, the Agency said, noting that the enterprise, located in Tbilisi, employs 15 people.
