In June, compared to the corresponding period of 2023, inflation rate in Georgia made up 2.2% (with a target of 3%), Sakstat reported. If compared to previous month (i.e. May), the rate made up negative 0.5% (i.e. deflation).

IN 2023, REGULATORY FEE PAID IN GEORGIA’S ELECTRICITY, NATURAL GAS AND WATER SECTORS INCREASED BY 48%
In 2023, revenues of Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission from the country’s electricity, natural gas and water sectors totaled to 23.13 million lari. As the Commission said in its annual report, the volume has increased by 48% compared to 2022.
NBG ACTING PRESIDENT PARTICIPATED IN ZURICH FINTECH FORUM
Natia Turnava, acting president of National Bank of Georgia (NBG), took part in the “Point Zero Forum” in Zurich. The forum, organized by non-for-profit organization Elevandi and Switzerland’s State Secretariat for International Finance, is “an annual gathering of the world’s financial regulators, policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators to collaborate on the advancement of global financial systems”.
“SMART STAY HACKATHON” WILL BE HELD IN TELAVI
On July 27-28, Telavi Technopark will host “Smart Stay Hackathon” (competition of innovative projects), the Georgian Agency of Innovations and Technology said.
Hackathon is intended for any aged above 16, who are interested in the hospitality field.
GEORGIAN COMPETITION AGENCY: IN 6 MONTHS, 38 VIOLATIONS OF CONSUMER GROUP RIGHTS CONFIRMED
In 6 months of the year, 407 applications regarding consumer right protection were registered, while 38 violations were confirmed, Georgian Competition and Consumer Protection Agency reported.
In total applications, 68% were related to online purchases, while 32% to off-line purchase of goods on the spot.
