    GEORGIA DOES NOT LEAD SEPARATE NEGOTIATIONS ON THE ALTERNATIVE ROUTE OF A BIG OIL WITH AZERBAIJAN

    The Foreign Ministry of Georgia made this statement as a response to the article published by the Russian Commersant-Daily. According to this article, during the recent visit of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan in Tbilisi, the questions on the Baku-Supsa route as the more economic alternative of Baku-Ceyhan route were discussed.

    The leader of Merab Kostava Society Vazha Adamia made this statement at the press conference on 2 September. In his words, this decision of the Georgian authorities moved away the settlement of the Abkhaz Conflict for long.


    THE FOREIGN MINISTER OF RUSSIA ARRIVING IN TBILISI TODAY

    The Foreign Minister of RF Igor Ivanov, acting upon charge of the Russian President will visit Georgia in the framework of the tour in South Caucasian countries started yesterday. During the visit the attention will be focused on the questions of the co-operation in the military and frontier spheres, the settlement of the regional problems as well as on trade-economic and cultural cooperation.


    ARSANOV’S ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE RUSSIAN EFFORTS TO CREATE DESTABILIZATION IN AJARA REFUTED IN THE AUTONOMIC REPUBLIC

    The Deputy State Security Minister of Ajara George Kuprashvili hailed absurd the announcement made by the vice president of Chechnya Vakha Arsanov on Russia’s efforts to create destabilization in the Autonomic Republic of Ajara. In his words, the Chechen boyeviks have to cross the whole country before they get to Ajara thus can get there only with the help of the Georgian authorities.

    THE NEXT TRANCHES OF THE WB MIGHT BE ALLOCATED IN SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER

    The head of the WB mission Joseph Owen and the leading experts of the Bank, visiting Tbilisi met the President of the country Eduard Shevardnadze on September 2. They declared that the responsibilities carried out by Georgia, namely the improvement of the mobilization of the tax revenues to the budget are creating the premises for speeding up the process of financing the structural reforms and the next trenches might be allocation not by the end of the year, as planned before, but in September-October.


    THE NATIONAL POLICY OF GEORGIA IN THE PUBLIC HEALTH CARE PRESENTED TO DONORS

    The national policy of Georgia in the sphere of public health as well as the strategic plan of its implantation were discussed during the meeting with donors, held at Sheraton Metechi Palace today. The meeting has been organized by the assistance of UN Development Program and the Ministry of health of Georgia.


    FOR THE FIRST TIME GEORGIA WILL CELEBRATE THE TOURISM DAY ON SEPTEMBER 25

    As the vice Chairman of the Department of Tourism and Resorts Zezva Gugunishvili declared to Sarke correspondent, under the decree of the President of the country Tourism Day will be celebrated every year on the last Saturday of September. In his words, this year the special activities, under the motto of the cultural heritage protection, will start from Kvemo Kartli region, namely from Bolnisi and Dmanisi region, where the oldest human skull on the territory of Eurasia has been found.


    ON SEPTEMBER 8 IMF MISSION ARRIVING TO GEORGIA

    The visit of the fund mission will last for two weeks. The IMF representatives are planning to investigate the situation in Georgia as well as to consider a new program on crediting.
