    VALISHVILI LEFT POST OF THE DEPUTY MINISTER OF ENERGY

    Information was spread today in social networks that Mariam Valishvili has left post of the Deputy Minister of Energy. She worked in the Ministry since 2008.


    SHERGELASHVILI: ALL PROPERTY MUST BE SOLD THROUGH AUCTIONS

    Tengiz Shergelashvili, candidate for Tbilisi Mayor’s office from Creation Movement (the broken-away group of Republicans), declared that selling of any state property, both on central and municipal levels, must be conducted through auctions.

    “We deal with systemic problem”, Shergelashvili pointed in live show of TV Pirveli broadcasting company, while commenting hand-over of territory in the very center of Tbilisi to Panorama Tbilisi project of Bidzina Ivanishvili (billionaire ex-premier) for 1 lari.

    IN SEPTEMBER, ANNUAL INFLATION MADE UP 6.2%

    Sakstat declared that annual inflation in September made up 6.2%. In comparison with the previous month (i.e. August), inflation made up 0.7%.


    THE GOVERNMENT FORECASTS GDP PER CAPITA OF $4,348 IN 2018

    Georgian government forecasts that GDP per capita in 2018 will amount to $4,348. In comparison with the indicator, expected in 2017 ($3,944), growth makes up 10%.


    AGRICULTURE MINISTRY: INVESTMENTS IN FIXED ASSETS IN THE SPHERE DOUBLED IN 2016

    Referring to data of Sakstat, Agriculture Ministry declared that investments, made in 2016 in terms of acquisition of fixed assets in the sphere of agriculture, amounted to 180 million lari.

    The Ministry noted that this volume twice exceeds showing of 2015 (about 80 million lari).


    HEALTHCARE AND SOCIAL ISSUES COMMITTEE: BY NEXT YEAR, WB’S ANALYSIS OF THE LAST 2 YEARS’ TENDENCIES WILL BE READY

    The Parliament’s Committee for Healthcare and Social Issues declared that by next year, analytical document of the World Bank (WB) on tendencies for the last 2 years will be ready.

    At the meeting today, the Committee discussed global and regional researches with representatives of poverty mission of WB.


    IN DRAFT BUDGET-2018, HEALTHCARE MINISTRY’S FUNDING ACCOUNTS FOR 28.5% OF TOTAL PAYMENTS

    According to draft of the state budget-2018, financing of Ministry of Labor, Healthcare and Social Protection amounts to 3.53 billion lari, accounting for 28.5% of total payments of the budget. If compared with the plan of 2017, the volume has been increased by 111.2 million lari.


    REPRESENTATIVES OF OVER 30 ITALIAN COMPANIES TAKE PART IN GEORGIAN-ITALIAN BUSINESS FORUM IN TBILISI

    Delegation of Italian businessmen arrived in Tbilisi, where it takes part in Georgian-Italian business forum, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported.

    The delegation comprises of representatives of more than 30 companies, engaged in spheres of infrastructure, energy, agriculture, telecom and tourism, the Ministry noted.


    ARMENIA, AZERBAIJAN AND RUSSIA ACCOUNT FOR 83% OF TOTAL INTERNATIONAL VISITORS IN GEORGIA

    National Tourism Administration reported that Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia accounted for 63% of the international visitors, arrived to Georgia in January-September.

    In particular, 1.3 million visitors arrived during the reporting period from Azerbaijan (share – 22.3%), increasing by 11% year-on-year.


    PUBLIC REGISTER FINISHED AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY OF THE COUNTRY

    National Agency of Public Register declared about completion of aerial photographs of the territory of Georgia, conducted within “Maps for Steady Land Management – Orthophoto Georgia” project.

    The project, which covered area of about 40,000 square km, was implemented with assistance of Norway’s cartography authority (Statens Kartverk), the Ministry specified.

    NBG PRESIDENT: 2018 WILL BE YEAR OF FINANCIAL EDUCATION

    President of National Bank of Georgia (NBG) Koba Gvenetadze declared about prioritizing of maximum informing of population and protection of consumer rights in such way.

    Respectively, “2018 will be year of financial education”, that means that “educational and informational activities will be more active than ever”, Gvenetadze said.
