    TBILISI OFFERS RESIDENTS OF ABKHAZIA AND TSKHINVALI REGION IMPROVEMENT OF HUMANITARIAN AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC CONDITIONS

    “Within reconciliation and inclusiveness policy, Georgian authorities take concrete steps, which aim improvement humanitarian and socio-economic conditions of population, living in regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali”, Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili declared at the government meeting today.

    The Premier specified that the authorities plan “encouragement of contacts, communications and relations, based on common interests, along division lines”.


    THE EU SUPPORTS INITIATIVE OF GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT CONCERNING ABKHAZIA AND TSKHINVALI REGION

    “The package of proposals adopted today by the government of Georgia can benefit the citizens living on both sides of the administrative boundary lines by facilitating trade, education and mobility”, says the statement, released by press secretary of the EU High Representative Federica Mogherini.

    The matter concerns legislative initiative of Georgian government, which envisages encouragement of contacts with residents of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region.


    NON-RESIDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO REGISTER COMPANIES IN GEORGIA ONLINE

    New initiative of Georgian government envisages opportunity for non-residents to register companies in the country online. They will be able also to manage these companies online.

    ANNUAL INFLATION IN MARCH MADE UP 2.8%

    Sakstat reported that annual inflation in March made up 2.8%. Being measured in comparison with previous month (i.e. February), there was deflation of 0.4%.


    ECONOMY MINISTRY: IMF MISSION POSITIVELY ESTIMATED GEORGIA’S ECONOMIC INDICATORS

    Today, Georgia’s First Deputy Premier and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitri Kumsishvili held the meeting with the IMF mission, headed by Mercedes Vera-Martin.

    The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development said that at the meeting, IMF mission, being in Georgia within the second review of EFF (Extended Fund Facility), positively estimated indicators of economic growth of Georgia.


    FOR JANUARY-MARCH, NUMBER OF INTERNATIONAL TRAVELERS INCREASED BY 15.5% Y-O-Y

    For January-March, number of foreign travelers, who visited Georgia, amounted to 1.46 million, increasing year-on-year by 15.5%, Georgian National Tourism Administration reported.

    At that, number of those travelers, who stayed in Georgia for 24 hours and more (i.e. tourists), made up 659,338 (growth – 28.2%), the Administration pointed.


    WITHIN AGROINSURANCE PROGRAM, REGISTRATION OF PASTURES TO BECAME OBLIGATORY

    The new initiative envisages obligatory registration of pastures within agroinsurance program, Georgian government reported. The issue was considered at the government meeting today.


    THE GOVERNMENT: GAS WILL BE ADDITIONALLY SUPPLIED TO 17,517 FAMILIES

    The government reported that natural gas will be additionally supplied to 17,517 families, living in 80 villages of Georgia’s 19 municipalities and 1 city. According to the government, the state budget allocated for that end 39.5 million lari.

    IFC ALLOCATED CREDIT LINE TO “BASISBANK” FOR FINANCING OF SMALL AND MEDIUM BUSINESS AND INTERNATIONAL TRADE

    International Finance Corporation (IFC, member of the World Bank group) allocated credit of $10 million to Basisbank (owner of up to 92.78% is Chinese Hualing Group).

    As IFC said, funds are intended for financing of floating assets and trade operations of small and medium-sized companies.


    “SCOPE RATINGS” ASSIGNED RATING TO “GEORGIAN BEER COMPANY”

    German-based agency Scope Ratings GmbH assigned to Georgian Beer Company rating “BB-” in respect of business risk and “BB” – in respect of financial risk, Georgian company declared.

    The company indicated that the rating will allow it to issue lari-denominated public bonds.
