CANDIDATE FOR TBILISI MAYOR’S OFFICE FROM “GEORGIAN DREAM”: TRANSPORT STRATEGY OF THE CAPITAL WILL BE CREATED
Kakha Kaladze, candidate for Tbilisi Mayor’s office from ruling Georgian Dream, declared that transport strategy of the capital will be created, playing essential role in urbanistic development of Tbilisi. ANNUAL INFLATION IN AUGUST MADE UP 5.7%
Sakstat declared that annual inflation in August made up 5.7%. In turn, monthly inflation (i.e. one, calculated against the previous month, July) made up 0.2%.
THE GOVERNMENT: PENSION REFORM WILL BE STARTED IN Q3 OF 2018
The government declared that pension reform will be started in the 3rd quarter of 2018. Until that, corresponding legislative amendments are drafted and necessary institutional and technical infrastructure will be secured, the government pointed.
FREE TRADE AGREEMENT WITH EFTA ENTERED IN FORCE
On September 1, agreement on free trade between Georgia and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) has entered in force, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported. As the Ministry noted, the document enters in force initially in relation of Norway and Iceland, while it will became effective with Switzerland and Liechtenstein in 3 months after ratification by these countries.
GERMANY PLANNED ASSISTANCE TO NEW PROJECTS IN GEORGIA
German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) has planned assistance to several new projects in Georgia, German embassy in Georgia reported. The issue was discussed during Germany-Georgia governmental consultations, held on August 29-30 in Berlin.
CONSTRUCTION OF 13-KM SECTION OF BATUMI BYPASS ROAD BEGINS
Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure declared about start of construction of 13-km section of Batumi bypass road. Contractor in this project became tender-winner Turkish joint venture Polat Yol & Mapa, the Ministry said.

GEORGIAN TEXTILE COMPANIES PARTICIPATE IN TRADE MISSION IN GERMANY
Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported that Georgian companies will took part on September 4-8 in trade mission in Germany (Munich, Berlin and Hamburg). Namely, 5 textile companies will participate – Elselema, Imeri, Materiel, Eurotex and MFT.
ECONOMY MINISTRY: INDIAN INVESTORS WILL IMPLEMENT IN KUTAISI THE PROJECT WORTH 1.5M LARI
Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared that with assistance of its Produce in Georgia Agency, Indian investors will implement in Kutaisi the project worth 1.5 million lari. According to the Ministry, company City Construction has started in Kutaisi construction of 5-storey object, which will include office areas as well as residential space of premium class.
“SILKNET” ISSUED BONDS OF 34M LARI
Communication operator SilkNet issued bonds of 34 million lari, TBC Bank reported. Placement is conducted by TBC Capital (affiliated structure of the bank).
“GLC” ISSUED BONDS OF $10M
Sakartvelos Banki (Bank of Georgia) declared that Georgian Leasing Company (GLC) has issued 3-year bonds of $10 million. Placement is conducted by Galt&Taggart investment company (member of Bank of Georgia Holdings, BGH).
REGULATING COMMISSION SUSPENDED AUTHORIZATION OF 4 ENTITIES
National Communication Commission declared about suspension of authorization to 4 entities. These entities are 2 LLCs (G-Net and Anri 109) and 2 sole proprietors (Koba Giorgadze and Beka Khachapuridze).
