    OPERATION OF CATERING FACILITIES EXTENDED FOR 1 HOUR, CONCERTS AND FESTIVALS ARE ALLOWED

    Interdepartmental coordination council, created by Georgian government for fight against COVID-19, decided today to extend from October 5 allowed operation of catering facilities by 1 hour, until 23:00. It will also be possible to hold concerts and festivals with observance of regulations.

    IN SEPTEMBER, ANNUAL INFLATION MADE UP 12.3%

    Sakstat reported that in September, annual inflation in Georgia made up 12.3%. In turn, monthly inflation (i.e. compared with the previous month, August) made up 0.2%.


    AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER, EXCHANGE RATE MADE UP 3.1228 GEL/USD, WHILE A YEAR AGO – 3.2878 GEL/USD

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that at the end of September, the exchange rate made 3.1228 GEL/USD. The average exchange rate for September made up 3.1155 GEL/USD.


    NBG: IN JUNE, COMPARED WITH INITIAL PERIOD OF THE PANDEMIC, SHARE OF HOUSEHOLDS’ IDLE LOANS IN FOREIGN CURRENCY INCREASED BY 4.3 PP, IN NATIONAL CURRENCY – BY 2.3 PP

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that the share of households’ idle loans, issued in foreign currency, increased in June in comparison with the initial period of the pandemic by 4.3 percentage points (pp) – up to 8.8%. In case of loans, issued in national currency, same share has increased by 2.3 pp – up to 6.4%.


    IN 2020, TURNOVER OF NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS’ AUXILIARY COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY DECREASED BY 8%, WHILE OUTPUT INCREASED BY 23.6%

    Sakstat reported that in 2020, turnover of auxiliary commercial activity of Georgian non-profit organizations totaled to 156 million lari. If compared with 2019, the volume has decreased by 8%.


    MULTI-STOREY BUILDINGS, PUT IN OPERATION AFTER OCTOBER 1, WILL BE EQUIPPED WITH SMART ELECTRICITY METERS

    Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission declared that all multi-storey residential buildings, put in operation after October 1, will be equipped with so-called “smart” meters. These meters allow remote access to data on consumption and charged fee, the Commission noted.

    IN H1, OPERATORS’ REVENUES FROM SENDING SMS INCREASED 3.5 TIMES

    Georgian National Communication Commission reported that for 6 months of this year, Georgian telecom operators’ revenues from short messages service (SMS) totaled to 14.4 million lari. If compared with the same period of 2020, the volume has increased 3.5 times.


    IN H1, PROFIT OF JSC “NIKORA” DECREASED 2.1 TIMES Y-O-Y

    JSC Nikora (production and sale of dairy and meat products) reported net profit of 2.4 million lari for the first half of this year. If compared with the same period of 2020, the volume has decreased 2.1 times.
