IDFI: STRUCTURAL CHANGES IN THE GOVERNMENT, STARTED IN DECEMBER 2017, COULD NOT SECURE OPTIMIZATION OF BUREAUCRATIC EXPENSES

TBILISI CITY HALL: ENTITIES, INTERESTED IN ARRANGEMENT OF UNDERGROUND PARKING, WILL GET LAND PLOTS IN OWNERSHIP

Tbilisi City Hall decided to hand over land plots to entities, interested in arrangement of underground parking, in ownership instead of previous offer to give them in 25-year rent. Mayor Kakha Kaladze declared this at the capital government meeting on July 4.

TI Georgia, Georgian branch of Transparency International, declared that major factors, encouraging possible corruption in judicial system, are undue influence on administration of justice by influential groups of judges and systemic problems of judicial authority.

Referring to conducted research, the organization specifies that the mentioned problems are caused by defective legislation and their resolution appeared impossible because of opposition, outer to judicial system itself.
