ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND AGRICULTURE MINISTER NOMINEE: NUMBER OF VISITORS OF PROTECTED TERRITORIES INCREASED THIS YEAR BY 8%
Levan Davitashvili, nominated for the post of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Minister, said that despite problems in Georgia’s tourism sector, number of persons, who visited protected territories of the country since the beginning of the year, has increased year-on-year by 8%, while income of these territories – by 30%.
Davitashvili declared this, while speaking today at the joint meeting of parliamentary committees, where his candidacy was considered (he has formally resigned after step-down of Mamuka Bakhtadze from the post of Prime Minister).

We work on the concept of development of virtual zones, economy and sustainable development minister nominee Natia Turnava declared, while speaking today during consideration of her candidacy at the joint meeting of parliamentary committees (she has formally resigned after step-down of Mamuka Bakhtadze from the post of Prime Minister).
In particular, Turnava said that amendments are planned in law “On Information and Technological Zones”, which should encourage companies and persons, engaged in IT sphere.
NEW STRATEGY OF ADB ENVISAGES $2B IN SOVEREIGN CREDITS FOR GEORGIA IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS
New Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) of Asian Development Bank (ADB) envisaged provision of sovereign credits of $2 billion to Georgia within the 5 years (2019-2023), to which should be added funds, attracted as co-financing form development partners.
As ADB explains, “This includes support for three flagship projects of the government: the development of the East-West and the North-South transport and economic corridors, and the Anaklia Deep Sea Port and Special Economic Zone”.
ROAD REHABILITATION WORTH 16.54M LARI IS UNDERWAY IN KHONI MUNICIPALITY
Georgian Roads Department reported that in Khoni municipality (Imereti region), rehabilitation of 10-km Dzedzileti-Gordi-Noghi road and construction of bridges is conducted. According to the Department, cost of the project makes up 16.54 million lari.
NEW TRANSPORT HUB TO BE BUILT IN TBILISI
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze declared that tender will be announced for construction of new transport hub in the capital. That will be the hub of 1 km, which will connect Marshal Gelovani Avenue, right embankment of Mtkvari River and Gagarin Street, he explained.

Pilot project of zonal-hourly parking, which we launched on Kote Abkhazi Street and the adjacent territory, “is implemented quite successfully”, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze declared. Now, we will expand its area and include Orbeliani Square also, he said.
