GEORGIA RATIFIED FREE TRADE AGREEMENT WITH CHINA
Georgian Parliament ratified on November 3 the agreement on free trade with China. The document was signed on May 13.

Meeting of Georgian-Romanian commission on economic cooperation took place in Tbilisi on November 3. As Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development stressed, the meeting was held for the first time after 2002.

Council of Europe reported that within the EU-financed project, work on anti-money-laundering mechanism is underway, which will be continued in 2018 also. Namely, National Risk Assessment has to be finished in the next year.

According to the government’s report on the budget performance for 9 months, allocations for defense sphere during this period were planned at 533.2 million lari. At that, factual spending made up 91.8% of the plan.
IN JANUARY-SEPTEMBER, FINANCING OF PUBLIC ORDER AND SECURITY MADE UP 96.4% OF THE PLAN
According to the government’s report on the budget performance for 9 months, allocations for public order and security sphere during this period were planned at 775.2 million lari. At that, factual spending made up 96.4% of the plan.
IN JANUARY-SEPTEMBER, FINANCING OF ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION MADE UP 102.3% OF THE PLAN
According to the government’s report on the budget performance for 9 months, allocations for environmental activities during this period were planned at 46.62 million lari. At that, factual spending made up 102.3% of the plan.
IN JANUARY-SEPTEMBER, 70 AGREEMENTS WERE SIGNED WITHIN THE COMPONENT OF AVAILABILITY OF FINANCE OF “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” PROGRAM
The government reported that during January-September, agreements within the component of availability of finance of “Produce in Georgia” state program (co-financing of interest of credit and leasing) were signed with 70 beneficiary companies. Out of this number, 17 agreements were signed within support of hotel industry, the government noted.
IN NEXT YEAR, ACTIVITIES FOR IDP RESETTLEMENT TO BE FUNDED WITH 82M LARI
Ministry Finance reported that allocations to the Ministry for Internally Displaced Persons from Occupied Territories, Refugees and Resettlement Issues, planned for 2018, amount to 96 million lari. Out of total, 82 million lari are envisaged for activities on resettlement of internally displaced persons (IDPs).

By the order of the vice-president of National Bank of Georgia (NBG), liquidation of Caucasus Development Bank – Georgia has been stopped. The bank will be transformed into society of non-banking activity.
OWNER OF CONTROLLING STAKE IN JSC “TRANSMSHENI” PLANS BUYOUT OF MINORITY SHARES
Giorgi Devadze, owner of controlling stake in JSC Transmsheni (82.31%, or 798,782 ordinary actions), plans buyout of shares from minority shareholders of this construction company. Respective obligatory tender proposal was published recently, which will be valid until January 9, 2018.
