    GEORGIAN PREMIER: WE HAVE TO EXPAND FRAMEWORK OF FREE TRADE REGIME WITH AZERBAIJAN

    Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze declared that Georgia and Azerbaijan have a free trade regime, “but it has certain shortcomings”. “We have to expand framework of free trade regime with Azerbaijan, adding services industry to it”, he pointed.

    PRIME MINISTER: VAT REFUND HAS TO AMOUNT THIS YEAR TO HALF A BILLION LARI

    Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze declared that within VAT refund, return of half a billion lari to the Georgian business is planned.

    The Premier said this before the government meeting today and noted that since the beginning of the year, about 280 million lari is refunded to the private sector.


    INTERDEPARTMENTAL COUNCIL IS CREATED FOR COORDINATION OF SUBSOIL SECTOR’S REFORM

    Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported about decision of the government to create interdepartmental coordination council on reform of the subsoil sector.

    As the Ministry said, the reform is implemented by team of selected experts from Adam Smith International.


    THE PREMIER: PROGRAM OF PROVISION OF MEDICINES FOR TREATMENT OF CHRONIC DISEASES WILL BE EXPANDED

    Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze spoke about expansion of program of provision of medicines for treatment of chronic diseases at the news briefing before the government meeting today.

    The Premier pointed that reform of healthcare system was launched in 2013, while new program was started in 2017, providing discounts of 50% for 23 names of medicines for treatment of the most widespread chronic diseases.


    69 PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO HAVE WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS

    At the meeting today, the Georgian government considered the initiative on provision of wireless internet access in 69 public schools, including 50 ones in regions.

    As Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze pointed, “Digitalization and internetization will be among the most important components of our reform of education, which we have to complete with as much as possible high pace”.


    AVIATION AUTHORITIES OF GEORGIA AND FRANCE AGREED ON CONTINUATION OF TECHNICAL COOPERATION PROGRAM

    Georgian Civil Aviation Agency and French Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGAC) signed the agreement on continuation of the program of technical cooperation.

    As the Agency reported, duration of the program will make up 4 years.

    ONLY “GEOCELL” BECAME INTERESTED IN LICENSE FOR RADIO-FREQUENCY BAND USE

    Today, acceptance of applications was finished on auction for the license for radio-frequency range use for provision of land electronic communication service.

    According to National Communication Commission, the only applicant appeared LLC Geocell (local mobile operator).


    INDEBTEDNESS OF “GLOBAL CONTACT CONSULTING” AMOUNTS TO 84.37M LARI

    Tbilisi City Court said that indebtedness of LLC Global Contact Consulting amounts to 84.37 million lari, while the company has no property.

    On August 21, representative of the company submitted request on launch of bankruptcy proceedings.
