    DEPUTY ECONOMY MINISTER: FOR 8 MONTHS, REVENUES FROM INTERNATIONAL TOURISM EXCEEDED $500M

    Mariam Kvrivishvili, Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, reported that revenues from international tourism for 8 months of this year exceeded $500 million. This corresponds to 50% of the same indicator in 2019, she specified.


    DEPUTY ECONOMY MINISTER: IN Q1, EXPENSES OF DOMESTIC TOURISTS TOTALED TO 553M LARI

    Mariam Kvrivishvili, Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, declared that expenses of domestic tourists for the 1st quarter of this year totaled to 553 million lari. This number exceeds the indicator of the corresponding period of 2019 by 51%, while of 2020 – by 45%, she noted.


    AGRICULTURE MINISTER: BUDGET OF GEORGIAN WINE PROMOTION MAKES UP 9-10M LARI

    Today, Georgian government has approved a state program of Georgian wine promotion.

    After the government meeting, Georgia’s Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili reported that budget of the program makes up about 9-10 million lari.


    IN H1, NET PROFIT OF GEORGIAN INSURANCE COMPANIES DECREASED BY 39.4% Y-O-Y

    Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that 18 insurance companies, operating in the country, finished the first half of this year with total net profit of 17.7 million lari. If compared with the same period of 2020, the volume has decreased by 39.4%.

    IN H1, 5 INSURANCE COMPANIES ACCOUNTED FOR 66.2% OF TOTAL PREMIUM

    Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that in total premium, attracted by Georgian insurance sector in the first half of this year (448.6 million lari), 5 companies accounted for 66.2%, or 296.8 million lari.

    In comparison with the same period of 2020, positions of the companies within the top five have undergone minor changes.


    IN H1, 5 INSURANCE COMPANIES ACCOUNTED FOR 72.4% OF TOTAL REIMBURSEMENTS

    Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that in total reimbursements of Georgian insurers for the first half of this year (194.2 million lari), 5 insurance companies accounted for 72.4%, or 140.6 million lari.

    In comparison with the same period of 2020, positions of the companies within the top five have undergone minor changes.


    IN H1, PROFIT WAS REPORTED BY 11 OUT OF 18 INSURANCE COMPANIES

    Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that 11 of 18 insurance companies, operating in the country, finished the first half of this year with profit. In total, net profit of Georgian insurance market for the reporting period made up 17.7 million lari.


    “GEORGIAN RAILWAY” FINISHED H1 WITH LOSS AGAIN

    JSC Georgian Railway reported loss of 32 million lari for the first half of this year. In the same period of 2020 (based on recalculated data), loss exceeded 65.8 million lari (respectively, this year’s volume has decreased 2 times).
