    PRIME MINISTER: THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS ABSENCE OF RISKS FOR CITIZENS’ HEALTH, FAST ECONOMIC RECOVERY AND ELECTORAL PROCESS

    Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia declared that in respect of COVID-19 spread, “Georgia remains a green country”, though “we can lose the status of green country tomorrow, and regain it the day after tomorrow again”.

    “The most important thing for us is health of our citizens, so that there was no need of introduction of restrictions, which will create serious discomfort and risks to fast economic recovery and, certainly, important thing is to finish electoral process quickly and effectively”, Gakharia declared today.

    NET GROWTH OF OBLIGATIONS OF THE STATE BUDGET-2021 PLANNED AT 527.6M LARI

    Draft of Georgia’s state budget-2021, being considered currently in the country’s Parliament, plans growth of obligations of the budget by 3.17 billion lari.

    To compare, growth of obligations of the state budget-2020 (against the background of COVID-19 pandemic) is planned at the level of 8.04 billion lari, while the growth in 2019 made up 2.36 billion lari.


    IN Q3, DEMAND FOR TREASURY BONDS 1.9 TIMES EXCEEDED EMISSION

    National Bank of Georgia reported that demand for treasury bonds in the 3rd quarter exceeded emission 1.9 times.

    In particular, total demand at 7 auctions, which were held in July-September, made up 914.5 million lari, while total placement – 490 million lari.


    IN Q3, DEMAND FOR TREASURY BILLS 2.2 TIMES EXCEEDED EMISSION

    National Bank of Georgia reported that demand for treasury bills in the 3rd quarter exceeded emission 2.2 times.

    In particular, total demand at 6 auctions, which were held in July-September, made up 468.6 million lari, while total placement – 210 million lari.


    NEXT IMF MISSION STARTED WORK IN GEORGIA

    Georgian Finance Ministry reported that next estimating mission of the IMF, led by Mercedes Vera-Martin, started meetings in the country. Because of global COVID-19 pandemic, the mission will work 2 weeks in virtual mode, the Ministry noted.


    GNERC CHAIRMAN: SINCE JULY 2021, NEW MODEL OF ELECTRIC POWER MARKET SHOULD BE ENACTED WITH FULL LOAD

    David Narmania, chairman of Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission (GNERC), indicated that in 2020, total modernization of electric power market has started.

    Narmania said that currently, “work is underway in the Commission on creation of regulatory framework, which will facilitate liberalization of electric power market and strengthening of energy security”.


    REHABILITATION OF 29 STREETS IS CONDUCTED IN KUTAISI

    Georgian Roads Department declared that road infrastructure and drainage systems will be fully brought in order on 29 streets in Kutaisi.

    According to the Department, total cost of the rehabilitation project makes up 22 million lari.


    IN VARKETILI SETTLEMENT OF TBILISI, WRESTLING HALL WAS OPENED

    Today, wrestling hall was opened in Varketili settlement of Tbilisi (Samgori district). As Tbilisi City Hall reported, total budget of the project makes up 906,179 lari.

    BECAUSE OF PROHIBITION OF REGULAR FLIGHTS, “GEORGIAN AIRPORTS ASSOCIATION” CORRECTED OWN INCOME PLAN

    Because of stage-by-stage, and then total cancellation since March 21 of regular passenger flights on the background of COVID-19 pandemic, state-owned LLC Georgian Airports Association was forced to correct own business plan for 2020.

    That is reported in review of the state-owned companies’ financial performance, enclosed to draft of the state budget-2021, which Georgian government submitted recently to the country’s Parliament.


    “GEORGIAN BEER COMPANY” FINISHED 2019 WITH LOSS

    JSC Georgian Beer Company reported loss of 3.7 million lari for 2019. According to audited report of the company, it had profit of 7.4 million lari in 2018.
