FINANCE MINISTRY: CURRENTLY, 13 COMPANIES ENJOY STATUS OF INTERNATIONAL COMPANY

Georgian Finance Ministry reported that 13 companies currently enjoy status of international company.

To remind, the companies, seeking this status, must carry out their eligible activity in Georgia.




STARTING FROM 2022, LEGAL ENTITIES’ DEPOSITS OF UP TO 15,000 LARI TO BE INSURED

At the meeting on April 6, Georgian Parliament’s Fiscal Committee considered in second hearing draft amendments to the law “On Deposit Insurance System”.

According to the amendments, legal entities will be included in the deposit insurance system, starting from January 1, 2022.




TBILISI MAYOR: ELECTRONIC TENDER FOR 700 MINIBUSES PROCUREMENT IS ALREADY ANNOUNCED

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze indicated that instead of about 1,500-1,700 old yellow minibuses, which move currently in the city, there is a need only for 1,000 ones, according to the new transport policy.

An electronic tender has been already announced for procurement of 700 new minibuses, the Mayor said at the city government meeting today.

BIDS INVITED FOR ARRANGEMENT OF PANORAMIC RESTAURANT AND VISITOR CENTER ON TBILISI TV TOWER

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze declared that Tbilisi City Hall together with Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development invites bids for arrangement of a panoramic restaurant, an observation deck and a visitor center on Tbilisi TV tower (Mount Mtatsminda). The project was delayed because of the pandemic, he said.




IN 2020, PROFIT OF INSURANCE COMPANY “UNISON” INCREASED 2.3 TIMES

Insurance company Unison reported net profit of 3.3 million lari for 2020. If compared with 2019, the volume has increased 2.3 times.




IN 2020, PROFIT OF THE INSURANCE COMPANY “GLOBAL BENEFITS GEORGIA” INCREASED 2.7 TIMES

Insurance company Global Benefits Georgia reported net profit of 17,444 for 2020. If compared with 2019, the volume has increased 2.7 times.




IN CONTRAST TO 2019, BROKERAGE COMPANY “HERITAGE SECURITIES” FINISHED 2020 WITH PROFIT

Georgian brokerage company Heritage Securities reported net profit of 649,949 lari for 2020. At the end of 2019, the company had losses of 421,223 lari.

TBILISI MAYOR: THERE IS NO NEED TO EVACUATE POPULATION BECAUSE OF THE LANDSLIDE ON MACHAVARIANI STREET

“I declare with full responsibility that there is no need to evacuate the population” because of the landslide on Machavariani Street, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said at the city government meeting today. Although he noted that, nevertheless, relevant departments have developed an evacuation plan to ensure safety of the population.
