ECONOMY MINISTER: IN COURSE OF WORK ON CREDIT AND GUARANTEE REFORM, MEETINGS ON TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE WERE HELD WITH INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS
First Deputy Premier and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitri Kumsishvili reported that in course of work on credit and guarantee reform, several meetings were held with the involved parties and various international organizations for the purpose of receiving necessary technical assistance. The Georgian side is interested that the EU was one of partakers of the credit and guarantee mechanism, Kumsishvili specified.
IN OCTOBER, TBILISI TO HOST WORLD FORUM OF TOURIST INDUSTRY INNOVATIONS “WELCOME CHALLENGE”
On October 23-26, annual world forum of tourist industry innovations “Welcome Challenge” will take place in Tbilisi, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared. The event will be held with support of National Tourism Administration.
GEORGIAN SIDE PLANS TO PARTICIPATE IN OCTOBER IN ECONOMIC FORUM IN GERMANY
Georgian Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry’s Agency Produce in Georgia hosted recently the meeting with managing director of the German Business Association (DWV) in Georgia Oliver Regner. The Agency said that the parties discussed participation of the Georgian business mission in economic forum in Frankfurt, which will take place on October 9.
TBILISI CITY HALL TO CONDUCT RECONSTRUCTION OF BRIDGES IN VARKETILI
City Hall of Tbilisi declared about launch of reconstruction of automobile bridge on crossing of Kakheti Highway and Javakheti Street in Samgori district of Georgian capital. The works will last for 7 months.
IN 2017, NUMBER OF SUBSCRIBERS OF BROADCASTING TRANSIT INCREASED BY 24.5%
National Communication Commission reported that in the 4th quarter of 2017, there were 605,600 subscribers of broadcasting transit in Georgia. If compare with the same period of 2016, the number has increased by 24.5%, the Commission noted.
IN 2017, IPTV TECHNOLOGY WAS USED BY 58.9% OF BROADCASTING SUBSCRIBERS
National Communication Commission reported that in the 4th quarter of 2017, IPTV technology was used by 58.9% of total broadcasting subscribers, against of 39.9% in the same period of 2016. In the end of 2017, the mentioned technology was used by 357,100 subscribers (year-on-year growth – 84%).

INCOME FROM MULTIPLEX SERVICE WAS GAINED BY 8 OPERATORS
National Communication Commission reported that as of December 2017, there were 28 multiplex operators in Georgia. However, commercial income from multiplex service was gained by only 8, the Commission noted.
“FITCH” AFFIRMED RATING OF MICROFINANCIAL ORGANIZATION “CRYSTAL”
Today, Fitch Ratings declared about affirmation of long-term issuer default rating of Georgian microfinancial organization Crystal at the level of “B”, with “stable” outlook. For the first time, the company was rated in August 2017.
CAPACITY OF TURBINES, INSTALLED BY AUSTRIAN “ANDRITZ” IN GEORGIA, TOTALS TO 349 MW
Andritz, Austrian manufacturer of equipment for hydroelectric stations, indicated that total capacity of turbines, installed by the company within various projects in Georgia, reaches 349 MW. At that, installation of turbines with total capacity of 350 MW is planned within ongoing projects, the company reported at the presentation in Tbilisi today.
THE GOVERNMENT: “BLAUENSTEIN GEORGIA” PLANS TO INCREASE INVESTMENT VOLUME
Georgian government declared that Georgian-Swiss company Blauenstein Georgia plans to make even more investments and to expand production. The government said that this was announced by Max Blauenstein, Swiss founder of the company, at the meeting with Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili.
