GEORGIAN FINANCE MINISTER TAKES PART IN ANNUAL MEETING OF THE IMF AND WB

Georgian Finance Ministry reported that the Minister Ivane Machavariani will participate in annual meeting of the IMF and World Bank (WB), which is held on October 8-14 in Indonesia.

The Ministry said that within the visit, Machavariani will address to the ministerial, related to new global initiative of the WB – the project on human capital development, where reforms in spheres of education and healthcare will be discussed.




TOURISM ADMINISTRATION: UNWTO WILL CONSIDER GEORGIA’S CANDIDACY FOR EXECUTIVE COUNCIL

The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) will consider candidacy of Georgia for executive council membership, Georgian National Tourism Administration reported.

As the Administration noted, the initiative on Georgia’s admission into the UNWTO council was announced by head of the Administration Giorgi Chogovadze at Budapest international conference on tourism and digital transformation.

CHAIRMAN OF THE PARLIAMENT’S COMMITTEE ON REGIONAL POLICY AND SELF-GOVERNANCE: RURAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM WILL PROCEED

Zaza Gabunia, chairman of the Parliament’s Committee on Regional Policy and Self-Governance, declared that rural assistance program will continue operation. The program will be reflected in the draft budget-2019, he pointed.




INVENTORY OF ABANDONED DEPOSIT FIELDS IS PLANNED

Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared that inventory of abandoned deposit fields is planned.

The inventory is mentioned among main activities of the Ministry for 2019-2022, enclosed to the draft state budget-2019.




CIRCULATION OF COINS WITH FACE VALUE OF 1 AND 2 TETRI TO EXPIRE IN THE END OF 2020

Council of National Bank (NBG) issued a resolution, which set circulation period of coins with face value of 1 and 2 tetri until end of 2020.

The resolution indicates that exchange of the mentioned coins until end of 2021 will be conducted by commercial banks and NBG itself.

Since October 5, owner of KazTransGas-Tbilisi (Tbilisi gas-distribution company) is Waltbay, which, according to Public Register, is registered on Marshall Islands. Director general of the gas distributor became Nikoloz Chiaureli.

Vakhtang Butskhrikidze, director general of TBC Bank, declared that Zaza Okuashvili, founder of Omega Group, “makes unfair charges” against the bank.

Butskhrikidze assures that the transaction, about which Okuashvili has spoken, was carried out with full observance of Georgian legislation and banking norms, in working hours.




AS OF JUNE 30, OVERLAND VEHICLES’ INSURANCE PREMIUM INCREASED BY 14.5% Y-O-Y

State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted by Georgian insurance companies as of June 30 in overland vehicles’ insurance (except railway transport), amounted to 45.36 million lari. If compared with the same period of 2017, the volume has increased by 14.5%.




AS OF JUNE 30, AIR TRANSPORT INSURANCE PREMIUM INCREASED BY 4.2% Y-O-Y

State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted by Georgian insurance companies as of June 30 in air transport insurance, amounted to 2.23 million lari. If compared with the same period of 2017, the volume has increased by 4.2%.




AS OF JUNE 30, SEA TRANSPORT INSURANCE PREMIUM INCREASED BY 5.2% Y-O-Y

State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted by Georgian insurance companies as of June 30 in sea transport insurance, amounted to 252,049 lari. If compared with the same period of 2017, the volume has increased by 5.2%.
