GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT: NEW INVESTMENT-ATTRACTION STRATEGY OF “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” STATE AGENCY TO BE COMPLETED IN 2024
In 2024, elaboration of a new strategy on investments attraction of the State Agency Produce in Georgia will be completed, defining priorities and activities for the next 5 years, Georgian government reported.
The new strategy envisages intensification and expansion of the program, which provides inclusion of representative companies abroad in investments attraction in Georgia.
GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT: IN 2024, CREDIT AND GUARANTEE SCHEME OF “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” AGENCY WILL BENEFIT 250 PROJECTS
In order to improve small and medium-sized businesses’ access to funding, the credit and guarantee scheme of the State Agency Produce in Georgia in 2024 will benefit 250 projects, the Georgian government declared. Investments within frameworks of these projects are expected to reach 200 million lari.
IN 2024, BUDGET OF THE STATE PROGRAM ON GEORGIAN WINE POPULARIZATION INCREASED BY 14%
The budget of the state program on facilitation to popularization of Georgian wine in 2024 is set at 16 million lari, which is 2 million lari (14%) more than in 2023, candidate for the post of Georgia’s Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture Otar Shamugia declared in Parliament of the country (because of recent change of Prime Minister, the Parliament should re-approve the Cabinet).
Priority markets for Georgian wine remain the US, the UK, Germany, Poland, Baltic States, China, South Korea and Japan, Shamugia noted.
GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT: IN 2024, WATER SUPPLY PROJECTS TO BE IMPLEMENTED IN 20 CITIES
In 2024, water supply projects, being at various stages, will be implemented in 20 cities, Georgian government reported.
By end of the year, 365,000 beneficiaries will use improved water supply, including 130,000 people who never had access to centralized water supply, reads the government program “For building a European state” (submitted to the Parliament together with updated composition of the Cabinet).
GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT: WASTE MANAGEMENT IN THE COUNTRY WILL BE CARRIED OUT IN ACCORDANCE WITH EUROPEAN STANDARDS
Waste management in Georgia will be carried out in accordance with European standards, promises the government program “For building a European state” (submitted to the Parliament together with updated composition of the Cabinet).
To this end, construction of a facility for non-hazardous waste disposal will continue in Kvemo Kartli region while will start in Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti region.
GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT: IN 2024, OPENING OF TECHNOPARKS IN SENAKI AND KUTAISI IS PLANNED
In 2024, Georgian network of technology parks will be expanded, reads the government program “For building a European state” (submitted to the Parliament together with updated composition of the Cabinet). In particular, opening of technology parks is planned in Senaki and Kutaisi.
