AS OF JUNE 30, INTERNATIONAL RESERVE ASSETS OF NBG HAVE DECREASED BY 9.6% Y-O-Y
As of June 30, Georgia’s official international reserve assets amounted to $4.59 billion, National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported. If compared to the same period of 2023, the volume has decreased by 9.6%.
IN Q2, DEMAND FOR NBG DEPOSIT CERTIFICATES EXCEEDED EMISSION 2.4 TIMES, RATES DECREASED
In the 2nd quarter, demand for deposit certificates (discount securities of National Bank of Georgia (NBG) with maturity period of 3 months) exceeded their emission 2.4 times.
According to NBG, emission in April-June totaled to 60 million lari (3 auctions), while demand – to 143.5 million lari.
NBG SOLD GOLD CERTIFICATES WITH FACE VALUE OF 20 G AND 1 KG 6 TIMES
Starting from December 4, 2023 (beginning of sales of gold certificates by National Bank of Georgia (NBG)) to July 5 of this year, sale of 20-gram certificates took place 6 times. In total, 19 certificates were sold.
COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT BETWEEN GEORGIA AND UAE ENTERED INTO FORCE
The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Georgia and the UAE has entered into force. The document was signed on October 10, 2023 in Dubai.

The agreement on cooperation in health and medical sciences between Georgia and Turkey entered into force. As a result, the agreement of 1994 was declared null and void.
AS OF JUNE 30, VOLUME OF PRIVATE DEBT SECURITIES REGISTERED IN GSSS INCREASED BY 3.5% Y-O-Y
As of June 30, volume of securities registered in GSSS (Georgian Securities Settlement System) totaled to 2.66 billion lari, National Bank of Georgia reported. If compared to the same period of 2023, the volume has increased by 3.5%.
GEORGIAN REVENUE SERVICE: IN Q2, 220 CASES REVEALED OF STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION OF EXCISE-LESS TOBACCO PRODUCTS
From April 1 to June 30, 220 cases of storage and transportation of tobacco products without excise stamps were detected in the country, the Georgian Revenue Service reports. As a result, 19,366 packs of excise-less cigarettes were seized.
