    AS OF JUNE, RATIO OF HOUSEHOLDS’ DEBT TO GDP INCREASED BY 3.6 PERCENTAGE POINTS Y-O-Y

    National Bank of Georgia reported that as of June, ratio of households’ debt to GDP made up 29.4%. If compared with the same period of 2016, this indicator has increased by 3.6 percentage points.


    AS OF JUNE, LOANS TO REALTY AND CONSTRUCTION ACCOUNTED FOR 4.9% OF TOTAL CREDITS

    National Bank of Georgia reported that credits, issued to segment of realty and construction, accounted as of June for 4.9% of total credits. As of June 2016, this share made up 4.6%.


    PUBLIC REGISTER: DURING A YEAR OF STATE REFORM OF LAND REGISTRATION, PROPERTY WAS REGISTERED BY OVER 200,000 CITIZENS

    During a year, passed since start of the state reform of land registration (August 1, 2016), over 200,000 citizens have registered their plots in ownership, National Agency of Public Register reported.

    The Agency pointed that since 1990-ies, only about 25% of land plots were registered in the country.


    VICE-PRESIDENT OF “GILEAD”: WE WANT TO SHARE THE GEORGIAN MODEL OF HEPATITIS C ELIMINATION WITH OTHER COUNTRIES

    “We want to share the Georgian model of hepatitis C elimination with other countries too in order to eradicate this disease all over the world”, declared Gregg Alton, executive vice-president of American pharmaceutical company Gilead.

    According to Georgian government, over 40,000 beneficiaries were enrolled for participation in the national program of hepatitis C elimination, of whom over 31,000 have already finished a course of treatment.


    GEORGIAN ROAD CONSTRUCTION SPECIALISTS TO BE RETRAINED IN CROATIA

    Roads Department announced that it has requested “acting contractors, consulting firms, which carry out projecting and supervising works, to prepare and retrain in the course of work the new staffers, who will be employed then in infrastructure projects”.

    As the Department said, Austrian construction company Avenue Osteuropa GmbH was the first, which responded to this request and held negotiations with the government of Croatia.


    AJARA GOVERNMENT: DEPARTMENT FOR ROADS AND MELIORATION SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT WILL IMPLEMENT THIS YEAR OVER 300 PROJECTS

    The government of Ajara declared that the department for roads and melioration systems management had to implement in the current year over 300 infrastructure projects. Out of total number, 85% of projects either are completed or are at implementation stage, the government said.


    CONSTRUCTION OF BYPASS SECTION OF AKHMETA-TELAVI-BAKURTSIKHE ROAD TO BE COMPLETED IN 2018

    Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure reported that Roads Department conducts construction of 15.5-km bypass section (Bakurtsikhe-Gurjaani) of Akhmeta-Telavi-Bakurtsikhe road. The works will be completed in 2018, the Ministry said.


    SYSTEM OF ANIMALS’ REGISTRATION DISCUSSED IN SAMTSKHE-JAVAKHETI

    On August 7-9, informational meetings on National Animal Identification, Registration and Traceability Systems (NAITS) were held in Samtskhe-Javakheti region, Georgian representation of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) reported.

    As the representation noted, this is the 3rd region of Georgia, where such meetings are held, being organized by FAO and Georgian National Food Agency.

    “TAV GEORGIA” NAMED 5 MOST PUNCTUAL AIR CARRIERS AT TBILISI AIRPORT

    TAV Georgia, (operator of Tbilisi and Batumi airports) has named top five of airlines, which made flights through Tbilisi airport during the current summer season with “minimum delay”. These are Lufthansa, Atlas Global, Pegasus, Aeroflot and Aegean.


    SHARES OF 4 ISSUERS ARE WITHDRAWN FROM TRADING SYSTEM OF GEORGIAN STOCK EXCHANGE

    Georgian Stock Exchange reported about recent withdrawal of shares of 4 issuers from the trading system. These issuers are Akhmeta Wine Factory, Nonwoven Fabrics, Sakgumbrini and Kutaisi Car Service “Rashi”.
