AS OF JULY 1, RETAIL DEPOSITS, PLACED IN FOREIGN CURRENCY, INCREASED BY 12.9% Y-O-Y
National Bank of Georgia reported that deposits of private individuals (including sole proprietors), placed as of July 1 in Georgian banks in foreign currency, amounted to equivalent of 8.1 billion lari. The volume has increased by 2.8% quarter-on-quarter and by 12.9% – year-on-year.

National Bank of Georgia reported that deposits of private individuals (including sole proprietors), placed as of July 1 in Georgian banks in national currency, amounted to 2.72 billion lari. The volume has increased by 6.8% quarter-on-quarter and by 29.4% – year-on-year.

National Bank of Georgia reported that deposits of legal entities, placed as of July 1 in Georgian banks in foreign currency, amounted to equivalent of 5.19 billion lari. The volume has increased by 1.1% quarter-on-quarter and by 4.6% – year-on-year.
AS OF JULY 1, CORPORATE DEPOSITS, PLACED IN NATIONAL CURRENCY, INCREASED BY 57.4% Y-O-Y
National Bank of Georgia reported that deposits of legal entities, placed as of July 1 in Georgian banks in national currency, amounted to 5.65 billion lari. The volume has increased by 10.6% quarter-on-quarter and by 57.4% – year-on-year.
JAPANESE WINEMAKERS VISIT GEORGIA
Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported about visit of Japanese winemakers to the country. The Ministry noted that the visit is organized by the Georgian National Wine Agency with assistance of Association Georgian Wine.
AGENCY FOR AGRICULTURAL PROJECTS MANAGEMENT: FARMERS’ INTEREST TO REGISTRATION IS VERY HIGH
Georgian Agency for Agricultural Projects Management declared that farmers’ interest to registration is very high. As the Agency noted, budget of the registration project amounts to 1.3 million lari, while first stage of the project is planned to finish until end of the year.

ROMANIAN CARRIER “TAROM” STARTS OPERATIONS IN GEORGIA
Georgian Civil Aviation Agency declared that Romanian airline Tarom will start regular flights to Georgia on winter navigation season. The company got respective permission on August 7.
HAZELNUT DRYING AND STORING ENTERPRISE OPENED IN ZUGDIDI MUNICIPALITY
Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture declared about opening of hazelnut drying and storing enterprise in Natsatu village of Zugdidi municipality (Samegrelo region). The Ministry noted that the enterprise is able to dry 1,000 t and storing 500 t of hazelnut, being calculated on service provision to over 600 farmers.
