GEORGIA PLANS TO SIGN FREE TRADE AGREEMENT WITH GULF STATES
Within the visit to the UAE, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitri Kumsishvili met the UAE Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori. As Kumsishvili said after the meeting, they considered, among other issues, the free trade agreement, which Georgia plans to sign with Gulf States.
AGREEMENT ON ASSISTANCE TO INVESTMENTS BETWEEN GEORGIA AND THE UAE ENTERED IN FORCE
On April 8, agreement on assistance to investments between Georgia and the UAE entered in force, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported. The Ministry noted that in terms of investment in Georgia, the UAE occupied in 2017 the 7th position ($62.72 million).

GEORGIA REACHED AGREEMENT WITH RAS AL KHAIMAH ON DEVELOPMENT OF CERAMIC INDUSTRY
Within the visit to the UAE, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitri Kumsishvili held a meeting with emir of Ras Al Khaimah, Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi. At the meeting, the parties agreed on launch of ceramic enterprises and development of ceramic industry in Georgia, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported.

“ABU DHABI GLOBAL MARKET” AND “ANAKLIA CITY” AGREED ON COOPERATION
Anaklia City and Abu Dhabi Global Market (a special economic zone) signed a memorandum of cooperation, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported. The signing ceremony was attended by the Minister Dimitri Kumsishvili, who is in the UAE on a working visit.

Within the industrial component of “Produce in Georgia” state program, LLC Tengo-2000 (concrete production) will be able to expand production, reported Produce in Georgia Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. Investments in the project, being implemented with assistance of the Agency, total to 660,000 lari.

2 FACTS OF POLLUTION OF GEORGIA’S TERRITORIAL WATERS ARE ELICITED
Two facts of pollution of Georgia’s territorial waters by vessels are elicited, Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported. Namely, vessels under flags of Panama and Sierra Leone polluted waters in the Poti port with wastewaters, the Ministry specified.
