THE GEORGIAN-ABKHAZIAN NEGOTIATIONS HAVE REACHED A DEADLOCK

Eter Astemirova, chairman of the commission on human rights and interethnic relations at Supreme Council of Abkhazia, has announced to Sarke correspondent about it. According to her, instead of fulfilling the decrees passed at CIS summit, the peace keepers are practically supporting the separatist regime in Abkhazia.




THE NECESSITY FOR CREATION OF SECURITY COUNCIL OF ABKHAZIA IS CAUSED BY A NUMBER OF REASONS, VAKHTANG KOLBAIA CONSIDERS

The Security Council of Abkhazia was created at December 5 session of Supreme Council of Abkhazia. Vakhtang Kolbaia, deputy chairman of Parliament of Georgia, chairman of the interim parliamentary commission on the refugees, has joined it.

THE NEGOTIATIONS ON THE KIZLAR PASTURES ARE BEING CONTINUED WITH THE DAGESTAN AUTHORITY

According to the information of the yesterday’s press-conference at the ministry of agriculture and food-stuffs, the question of the Kizlar pastures, which are located on the territory of Dagestan, North-Caucasian republic of RF, will be discussed at Friday’s governmental meeting. Georgia disposes 60 ha of the territory with buildings to the tune of 500,000 GEL.




THE CORRECTIVES ARE MADE IN THE BUDGET ESTIMATES FOR 1998 ON THE QUESTIONS OF FINANCING OF AGRICULTURE

According to the information of the yesterday’s press-conference at the ministry of agriculture and food-stuffs, during the consideration of the budget estimates for 1998 in the second reading, by decision of Finance Minister, the sum allocated on melioration is decreased by 250,000 Lari; financing of the measures on plants’ protection is increased by 200,000; 500,000 Lari is allocated on the information service, which is being created at the ministry.




6.5M LARI WAS TRANSFERRED TO THE BUDGET BY TAX SERVICE FOR THE FIRST WEEK OF DECEMBER, CUSTOMHOUSE HAS TRANSFERRED 1.4M

The sum transferred by Tax Service exceeds the last year parameters by 1.5 million Lari. The measures on revealing the cases of tax evasion are continued.




THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN ECONOMIC RELATIONS AND TRADE IS WORKING OUT A LONG-TERM CONCEPT ON DEVELOPMENT OF EXPORT POTENTIAL

With this purpose the ministry asked almost 30 departments and scientific-research institutes of the country to submit their offers on export stimulation. According to the information from the ministry of foreign economic relations and trade, a questionnaire is prepared with participation of foreign experts, on the basis of which about 60 Georgian organizations-exporters will be polled.




AVICULTURE OF THE COUNTRY IS IN THE PROCESS OF REHABILITATION

At the end of last week the representatives of the administration of Ministry of Agriculture and Food-Stuffs and the parliamentary faction Abkhazeti visited poultry farms in Gamarjveba, Samgori and Coda. All the farms are functioning.

According to the information of Sakenergo, till the end of November the possibility of power generation made 14-15.5 million kWh daily, and use – 19-20 million, that did not give the possibility to fulfill the established power supply schedule. With the beginning of the work of Thermoelectric Power Station it has become possible to generate 8 million kWh daily; 1.5 million kWh from Russia and Azerbaijan is added to it.

According to the information from the reliable sources, for this purpose the separatist government of Abkhazia has decided to transfer the schooling to the Abkhazian language in all schools of Abkhazia. However, as far as there are neither personnel, nor text-books for it, Russian is declared an administrative language during the transition period.
