PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE ON BRANCH ECONOMY AND ECONOMIC POLICY DISCUSSED ISSUES OF COOPERATION WITH WB
Georgian Parliament reported that Roman Kakulia, chairman of the Branch Economy and Economic Policy Committee, held a meeting today with regional director of the World Bank (WB) Sebastian Molineus.
As Kakulia said after the meeting, “Main goal of our meeting was once more consideration of that portfolio of the WB concerning Georgia, which was approved in 2018 and contains 11 main directions”.
MINING COMPONENT OF THE PROGRAM “100 INVESTMENT OFFERS TO BUSINESS” IS LAUNCHED
Today, mining component of the state program “100 Investment Offers to Business” was launched.
As Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava said, the matter concerns overall 100 mining licenses, which initial cost totals to, at least, 82 million lari.
DEPUTY ECONOMY MINISTER: NATIONAL STRATEGY OF INTERNET SAFETY IS DEVELOPED
Akaki Sagirashvili, Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, declared that national strategy of broadband Internet development was developed with assistance of the EU and with participation of experts of the World Bank.
Now, according to Sagirashvili, work on national strategy of Internet safety and corresponding action plan is underway.
“HUB GEORGIA”: GEORGIA HAS NO TRANSPORT POLICY
Non-governmental organization HUB Georgia considers that today, Georgia “has no transport policy”.
As HUB Georgia notes, Georgian government received $750,000 from Asian Development Bank (ADB) for development of the strategy of transport sector’s development.
QUESTION OF REGISTRATION OF TEQUILA TRADEMARK IN GEORGIA IS CONSIDERED
Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported about visit to the country of delegation of Mexico’s Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT).
As the Ministry said, the visit aims consideration of question of official registration in Georgia of tequila trademark.
NBG DRAFTED PROVISION ON DATA-BASED MODEL’S RISK MANAGEMENT
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) published today the draft of provision on risk management of data-based model.
As NBG said, the provision defines basic principles of building, validation and use of the model, as well as powers of NBG.

Georgian Stock Exchange reported that cost of exchange transactions, concluded in the 4th quarter of 2019 in lari, totaled to 15,714 lari. If compared with the same period of 2018, the volume has decreased by 53.6%.

Georgian Stock Exchange reported that cost of OTC (over-the-counter) transactions, concluded in the 4th quarter of 2019 in the US dollars, totaled to $2.25 million. If compared with the same period of 2018, the volume has increased 1.2 times.
