BUSINESS OMBUDSMAN: WE ARE READY TO PROVIDE MEDIATION TO KHAZARADZE IN COMMUNICATION WITH THE STATE
Georgia’s business ombudsman Irakli Lekvinadze indicated that public statements are heard in connection with Anaklia port, that “terms of the project implementation and other issues become problem”. “If there is need of more support to the port project from the government, we are ready to provide mediation to Mamuka Khazaradze [founder of TBC Bank, which parental structure within consortium conducts construction of the port] in communication with the state”, Lekvinadze declared.
FINANCE MINISTRY: ACCUSATIONS OF “FRESCO SHOPPING CENTER” OWNER REGARDING PRESSURE ON BUSINESS ARE UNGROUNDED
Georgian Finance Ministry reported that tax audit of activity of LLC Fresco Shopping Center was conducted on February 20, 2018. Draft of concluding act was prepared, with which the taxpayer does not agree, so the dispute is considered currently in Appeal Council of Revenue Service.

IN 2018, FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENTS DROPPED BY 34.9%
Sakstat released estimation, according to which foreign direct investments (FDI), made in Georgia in 2018, amounted to $1.23 billion. The volume is by 34.9% less than the showing of 2017.
IN 2018, LARGEST FDI WENT TO FINANCIAL SECTOR
Sakstat released estimation, according to which largest foreign direct investments (FDI) were recorded in 2018 in financial sector of Georgia. Namely, this sector accounted for $277.9 million (i.e. 22.5% of total FDI, made in the country for the reporting year).
IN 2018, BIGGEST PART OF FDI WAS MADE FROM AZERBAIJAN
Sakstat released estimation, according to which Azerbaijan accounted for 19.5% of total foreign direct investments, made in Georgia in 2018 ($1.23 billion). Volume of FDI from this country amounted to $240 million, reducing 1.9 times year-on-year.
DEPUTY ECONOMY MINISTER: FDI REDUCTION IN 2018 IS NOT CONNECTED WITH ANY NEGATIVE FUNDAMENTAL FACTOR
Reduction in 2018 of foreign direct investments (FDI) in the country is not connected with any negative fundamental factor, Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Ekaterina Mikabadze assures. “We deal with certain factors, which coincided with each other”, she said.

OPPOSITION OF “GEORGIAN AIRWAYS” AND “TAV URBAN GEORGIA” CONTINUES
Georgian Airways asserts that TAV Urban Georgia (operator of Tbilisi and Batumi airports) does not provide opportunity to this Georgian carrier to make flights from Tbilisi airport and demands coverage of “unreal debts”. In its turn, TAV Urban Georgia declares that Georgian Airways has arrears, amounting currently to over 9 million lari.
LLC “ABV AVIATION” RECEIVED CERTIFICATE OF CIVIL AIRCRAFT REFUELLER
Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported that its Civil Aviation Agency has issued to LLC ABV Aviation a certificate of civil aircraft refueller enterprise. The certification process has lasted for one month.
