    RULE OF STAFFING OF NEW STRUCTURE, TO BE CREATED WITHIN PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP, IS NOT DEFINED YET

    At the meeting today, the Parliament’s Committee on Branch Economy and Economic Policy considered in second hearing the draft bill “On Public-Private Partnership”.

    Disagreements and additional questions arose in connection with creation of the new structure, envisaged by the document, the Parliament reported.

    IN Q3 OF 2017, RATIO OF HOUSEHOLDS’ DEBT TO GDP MADE UP 31.9%

    National Bank of Georgia reported that in the 3rd quarter of 2017, ratio of households’ debt to GDP made up 31.9%.

    In the 1st quarter of the same year, the ratio made up 29.1%, in the 2nd quarter – 30.2%.


    AS OF MARCH, YIELD OF 10-YEAR BONDS OF GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT MADE UP 3.8%

    Referring to Bloomberg, National Bank of Georgia reported that yield of 10-year bonds of Georgian government, placed on London Stock Exchange, made up as of March of this year 3.8%, against of 3.9% in March 2017. The indicator of December 2017 made up 2.9%.


    AT THE END OF LAST YEAR, THE GOVERNMENT ALLOCATED 5M LARI FROM RESERVE FUND FOR ENCOURAGEMENT OF POLICE OFFICERS

    According to the government order, 5 million lari were allocated from reserve fund of the government for encouragement of police officers.

    The document specifies that funds are intended only for heads of police departments and officers of lower rank.


    IN JANUARY-MARCH, PASSENGER TRAFFIC IN GEORGIAN AIRPORTS INCREASED BY 36% Y-O-Y

    In January-March, 839,612 passengers were transported by regular and charter flights via Georgian airports, Georgian Airports Association reported. This volume exceeds by 36% showing of the same period of 2017, the Association noted.


    IN Q1, NUMBER OF VISITORS OF PROTECTED TERRITORIES INCREASED BY 39% Y-O-Y

    Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported that 55,490 persons had visited Georgia’s protected territories in the 1st quarter. If compared with the same period of 2017, the number has increased by 39%, the Ministry noted.


    RECONSTRUCTION OF BRIDGES IN TBILISI DISTRICT GLDANI TO COST 8M LARI

    Tbilisi City Hall declared that reconstruction of bridges over Gldanula River in Gldani district of Tbilisi (on Sarajishvili Avenue) will begin in next few days. As the City Hall noted, cost of the project makes up about 8 million lari, while works are planned to finish in 2019.

    ECONOMY MINISTER: SEVERAL IMPORTANT DELEGATIONS FROM THE UAE WILL VISIT GEORGIA

    Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitri Kumsishvili declared that “several important delegations from the UAE will visit Georgia, aiming study new investment opportunities”.

    To remind, Kumsishvili is on working visit in the UAE this week.


    AS OF MARCH, PRICE PER SHARE OF “BOG HOLDINGS” MADE UP 35.1 GBP, OF “TBC BANK GROUP” – 18 GBP

    Referring to Bloomberg, National Bank of Georgia reported that as of March, price per share of BOG Holdings made up on London Stock Exchange 35.1 GBP, against of 30.4 GBP in March 2017. As of December 2017, the price made up 34.4 GBP.


    PARTNERSHIP FUND AND “MERRYDOW DEVELOPMENT HOLDINGS” PLAN COOPERATION WITH POLISH SIDE

    Georgian Partnership Fund, together with Rustaveli Property and Merrydow Development Holdings, plans to sign agreements with the Polish financial structures. The subject was considered at the recent meeting of Georgian government.
