    GEORGIA, AZERBAIJAN AND TURKEY WILL ESTABLISH A TRILATERAL COMMITTEE ON CUSTOMS ISSUES

    A trilateral meeting of the customs administrations of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey was held in the Turkish city of Izmir, reported the Revenue Service of Georgian Finance Ministry.

    The Service reported that during the meeting, the parties signed a protocol on establishment of a trilateral committee on customs issues.


    GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATION: NEXT STAGE OF SUPPORT TO PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION REFORM BEGINS

    Administration of Georgian government announced about start of the next stage of support to public administration reform. The matter concerns a new strategy of support to the reform, calculated for next years.

    AS OF SEPTEMBER 30, NBG’S NET FOREIGN ASSETS DECREASED BY 10.7% Y-O-Y

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that its net foreign assets amounted as of September 30 to 9.7 billion lari. The volume has decreased by 4.8% quarter-on-quarter and by 10.7% year-on-year.


    AS OF SEPTEMBER 30, LARI SUPPLY INCREASED BY 4.2% Y-O-Y

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that as of September 30, lari supply amounted to 4.6 billion lari.

    If compared with end of this June, the volume has increased by 2.2% (by 98.4 million lari), while if compared with September 30, 2020 – by 4.2% (by 184 million lari).


    IN 2020, AVERAGE MONTHLY NOMINAL SALARY IN GEORGIA INCREASED BY 5.4%

    Sakstat reported that in 2020, the average nominal monthly salary in Georgia made up 1,191 lari. If compared with 2019, the volume has increased by 5.4%, or by 61.5 lari.


    GOVERNMENT DECIDED TO VOID PAYMENT OF FEE FOR USE OF STATE PROPERTY FROM MARCH 21, 2020 TO MARCH 21, 2021

    Georgian government decided today to exempt tenants of the state property from payment of fee for the period from March 21, 2020 to March 21, 2021.

    Natia Turnava, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, explained the decision with difficult financial situation, caused by the pandemic.


    WITHIN FRAMEWORK OF THE EU-FUNDED PILOT REGIONS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, 3 STATE AGENCIES WILL RECEIVE FUNDING

    Within the framework of the EU-funded program of integrated development of pilot regions for 2020-2022, 3 state agencies will receive funding, reported Georgian government. These agencies are Rural Development Agency, Produce in Georgia Agency, Innovation and Technology Agency.


    GREEN GRANTS COMPONENT OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM STARTED ACCEPTANCE OF APPLICATIONS

    Within the framework of rural development program, applications for the green grants component will be accepted (electronically) between October 8 and December 31, reported Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.

    The mentioned program is implemented by the Ministry’s Rural Development Agency with support of the EU and the UN Development Program (UNDP), within the framework of the European Neighborhood Program for Agricultural and Rural Development (ENPARD).
