RUSSIAN AND GEORGIAN EXPERTS CONTINUE TALKS ON MILITARY QUESTIONS IN TBILISI
Commenting to Sarke on the 2-days negotiations on military questions (commenced on December 11), Georgia’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Kakha Sikharulidze pointed out the “normal atmosphere”, stressing that the “situation has moved form the stalemate”. According to Sikharulidze, by now an agreement has been reached to within a month withdraw the Russian battalion and the utilization of the Sagarejo (east Georgia) “300 weapons-full wagons” military warehouse has been considered.

The energy system of the country this morning actually collapsed. At 10 a.m. an accident at a substation caused a fall in voltage and two operating aggregates of EnguriHES (the hydro electric station) automatically switched off, according to theState Power System of Georgia.
VOLUME OF GAS SUPPLIES CUT
According to the press service of JSC Tbilgaz’s, Tbilisi’s gas distributor, today a part of the consumers in the capital’s districts of Vake-Saburtalo and Isani was left without gas. This was because Russia had cut 1.2 million cubic meter a day fuel supplies for Armenia and Georgia, it is noted.

CHIATURMARGANETS INTENDS TO CONTINUE COOPERATION WITH SINGAPORE PARTNERS
Iandi Shekiladze, chairman of the Supervisory Council of JSC Chiaturmarganets, Delta Export, the Singapore company, asks for resuming manganese supplies this month and wants 6,000 t of concentrate worth of $300,000 to besupplied. Chiaturmarganets concluded an agreement on monthly supply of around 10,000 t of product a year with Delta Export in June 2002.
NGOS PLAN TO SET UP A MONITORING GROUP FOR PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION

9,233 LARI WORTH DEAL CONCLUDED AT SECOND SPECIALIZED AUCTION
According to the Georgian Stock Exchange, at a second specialized auction today 33,700 shares (39.06%) of Topo Geodezia, stated-owned Rustavi treasury enterprise, were sold for 9,233 Lari. Six brokerage companies took part in the auction.

CORPSE OF LUKOIL PRESIDENT’S FATHER FOUND
The Interior Ministry informs that the corpse of Vakhid Sharifov, kidnapped on December 2 from his house in Dmanisi district (South Georgia) was found this morning. The kidnappers have not been detained as yet.
