Foreign Minister Mikhail Janelidze became Deputy Prime Minister, Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili declared at the government meeting today.

Besides, Deputy Energy Minister Ilya Eloshvili was promoted to the Minister’s position.

TBILISI TO HOST INTERNATIONAL AVIATION FORUM IN NEXT FEBRUARY

On February 20-23, 2018, Tbilisi will host the 15^th international aviation forum CONNECT, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported. The event will be held with assistance of the state LLC Georgian Airports Association and the government of the country.




IN JANUARY-JUNE, PASSENGER TRAFFIC IN GEORGIAN AIRPORTS INCREASED BY 48.61% Y-O-Y

Civil Aviation Agency reported that 1.6 million passengers were transported in 6 months through airports of the country. If compared with the same period of 2016, the traffic has increased by 48.61%, the Agency pointed.




“TAV GEORGIA”: TBILISI AIRPORT WILL SERVE PASSENGERS WITH 2 TERMINALS SINCE SEPTEMBER

TAV Georgia (operator of Tbilisi and Batumi airports) declared that Tbilisi airport will start serving of passengers with two terminals since September.

As the company pointed, process of terminals’ amalgamation is started now, which will last until end of August.

REAL ESTATE IN SEVERAL MUNICIPALITIES IS HANDED OVER TO “SOCAR GEORGIA GAS”

According to the government’s order, real estate in several municipalities will be handed over to SOCAR Georgia Gas (regional gas distributor). The matter concerns linear structures (i.e. pipeline).

State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that in total premium, attracted by Ardi Insurance as of March 31, medical (health) insurance accounted for 71.6%. In this segment, the company attracted 6.41 million lari, increasing the volume by 22.9% year-on-year.

State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that in total premium, attracted by Irao as of March 31, medical (health) insurance accounted for 54.1%. In this segment, the company attracted 4.12 million lari, increasing the volume by 1.2% year-on-year.




DAIRY PRODUCTION TO BE ESTABLISHED IN KAZBEGI MUNICIPALITY

In village Arsha (Kazbegi municipality of Mtskheta-Mtianeti region), dairy production will be opened, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared.

For that end, nonagricultural land plot of 2,140 square m with structures was handed over to LLC Nedli Rdze (Raw Milk) within “Produce in Georgia” state program.

NATIONAL FOOD AGENCY: FROM 75 SAMPLES OF SPICES, VIOLATION WAS REVEALED IN 4

National Food Agency declared that 75 samples of spices were taken from trade network countrywide for examination of lead content.

“All 75 samples are already examined for the moment, while violations were revealed in 4 cases”, the Agency said.




NBG PROMOTES FINANCIAL EDUCATION AMONG YOUTH

Today, National Bank of Georgia (NBG) and National Palace of Studying Youth have signed a memorandum of cooperation.

The memorandum envisages implementation of financial education project “School-Bank” in the Palace and cooperation in organization of various educational activities, including “Global Money Week”, NBG reported.
