    GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT: SHARE OF POSITIVE RESULTS IN COVID-19 TESTS DECREASED FROM 10% TO 8%

    At the meeting today, interagency coordination council, created by Georgian government for fight against COVID-19, indicated that stabilization in terms of COVID-19 cases’ number is noticed as result of acting restrictions. In particular, for the first time in recent months, the share of positive results of tests has decreased from 10% to 8%, administration of the government specified.

    AS OF DECEMBER 31, LARI SUPPLY HAS INCREASED BY 12.7% Y-O-Y

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that as of December 31, 2020, lari supply amounted to 4.7 billion lari. The volume has increased by 4.4% quarter-on-quarter and 12.7% year-on-year.


    GEORGIAN MINISTER OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND AGRICULTURE: AGRICULTURAL OUTPUT IN THE COUNTRY INCREASED 2 TIMES IN 2020 IN COMPARISON WITH 2012

    Levan Davitashvili, Georgia’s Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, said that agricultural output in Georgia slightly exceeded 3 billion lari in 2012 (when current ruling Georgian Dream came to power). In 2020, the output, according to forecasts, should reach up to 6 billion (respectively, increasing 2 times for the period), he declared.

    NO TRADES ON DEPOSIT RECEIPTS OF “SILKNET” HELD YET ON GEORGIAN STOCK EXCHANGE

    Georgian Stock Exchange reported that no trades on deposit receipts of local telecom operator SilkNet were held in the trading system yet. The receipts are admitted to the Stock Exchange’s listing of category B since November 27, 2020.


    “JIBE” FINISHED 2019 WITH PROFIT

    LLC Jibe (Pocket) reported profit of 1.01 million lari for 2019. According to audited report of this first wholesale retail chain in Georgia (Jibe Cash&Carry) that serves both business and retail consumers, the company had loss of 2.2 million lari in 2018.


    IN 2019, PROFIT OF “ZOOMMER GEORGIA” DECREASED BY 42.9%

    LLC Zoommer Georgia reported profit of 1.2 million lari for 2019. According to audited report of this Georgian chain of computer and mobile phones’ stores, the volume has decreased by 42.9% year-on-year.


    IN 2019, PROFIT OF “RONIKO” DECREASED BY 13.2%

    LLC Roniko reported profit of 2.8 million lari for 2019. According to audited report of this Georgian chain of eyeglasses and other optics stores, the volume has decreased by 13.2% year-on-year.


    IN 2019, PROFIT OF “AKHALI NATEBA” DECREASED BY 16.2%

    LLC Akhali Nateba (New Light, chain of lighting, furniture and accessories stores) reported profit of 1.1 million lari for 2019. According to audited report of the company, the volume has decreased by 16.2% year-on-year.
