IN JANUARY-JUNE, EXPORT INCREASED Y-O-Y BY 31.8%, IMPORT – BY 8.6%
Sakstat released preliminary data for 6 months of this year, according to which Georgian export for the period amounted to $1.25 billion, increasing by 31.8% year-on-year.
In turn, import to Georgia amounted to $3.58 billion, increasing by 8.6%.
ANAKLIA HOSTS FIRST BUSINESS FESTIVAL
First business festival “Anakliaoba 2017” opened in Anaklia, which will last for 5 days.
Nearly 50 producers of food and drinks, tour operators, transport and other companies are presented at the festival, reported gamgeoba (local administration) of Zugdidi municipality.
ROADS DEPARTMENT: CONSTRUCTION OF TIANETI-ZARIDZEEBI-ZHINVALI ROAD’S SECTION COMES TO THE END
Roads Department declared that reconstruction of 12-km section of Tianeti-Zaridzeebi-Zhinvali road of domestic importance (26 km) will be completed in end of July. The works were started in May 2014.
EIB TO ALLOCATE 250M EUR TO GEORGIA WITHIN TRANSPORT COMMUNICATIONS PROJECT
European Investment Bank (EIB) will allocate 250 million EUR to Georgia, within the project of transport communications.
The letter, confirming signing of the respective loan agreement, was signed today in Batumi, within the 14th international conference “Georgia’s European Way”.
REHABILITATION OF “VARDNILHES” AND “ENGURHES” TO BE FUNDED BY ADDITIONAL 3.5M EUR
European Investment Bank (EIB) will allocate additional 3.5 million EUR for rehabilitation of Georgia’s major hydroelectric stations VardnilHES and EngurHES.

EBRD TO FUND REPLENISHMENT OF BATUMI MUNICIPAL TRANSPORT FLEET WITH 10 ELECTRO AND 20 DIESEL BUSES
With financing of EBRD, Batumi municipal transport fleet will be replenished during next 1-1.5 years with 10 electro and 20 diesel buses. Respective loan and grant agreements were signed in Batumi today.
NEW TRAIN APPOINTED BETWEEN BATUMI AND UREKI
New train will run between Batumi and Ureki, making two trips daily, while ticket will cost 4 lari, the government of Ajara declared. The train is designed for 300 passengers.
IN PORTFOLIO OF “UNISON”, MEDICAL INSURANCE AND PROPERTY INSURANCE HAVE ALMOST EQUAL SHARES
State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that in total premium, attracted by Unison as of March 31, medical (health) insurance accounted for 28.9%. In this segment, the company attracted 1.68 million lari, increasing the volume 3.3 times year-on-year.
SHARE OF LAND TRANSPORT INSURANCE IN PORTFOLIO OF “ALPHA” INCREASED CONSIDERABLY
State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that in total premium, attracted by Alpha as of March 31, insurance of land transport (except railway) accounted for 41.3%. In this segment, the company attracted 2.06 million lari, increasing the volume 8 times year-on-year.
IN KUTAISI, THE SECOND “MCDONALD’S” TO BE OPENED
On July 14, the second restaurant of McDonald’s will be opened in Kutaisi. According to McDonald’s Georgia, investment in the outlet amount to 6.17 million lari.
