    NBG: AS OF MARCH 31, GEORGIA’S EXTERNAL DEBT, SUBJECTED TO PAYMENT UNTIL END OF THE YEAR, MADE UP $3.9B

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that as of March 31, schedule for covering Georgia’s total external debt envisaged payment of $3.9 billion until end of this year.

    That sum includes debts of banks, totaling to $1.6 billion, debts of other sectors of $1.3 billion, debt of the government of $865.3 million, intercompany debts of $584.3 million and debt of NBG of $7.9 million.


    IN JANUARY-JUNE, GEORGIA’S FOREIGN TRADE INCREASED BY 21.3% Y-O-Y

    Sakstat reported that Georgia’s foreign trade turnover (excluding unorganized trade) for January-June amounted to $6.21 billion. If compared with the same period of 2020, the volume has increased by 21.3%.


    IN 2020, GEORGIA’S AGRICULTURAL EXPORT INCREASED BY 6%

    Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported that export of agricultural products from the country increased in 2020 by 6% and reached $942.2 million.

    The Ministry noted that excluding export of cigarettes and tobacco, which is re-export actually, export of agricultural products in 2020 has increased by 10% and amounted to $898.2 million.


    IN 2020, GEORGIA’S AGRICULTURAL IMPORT DECREASED BY 4%

    Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported that import of agricultural products to the country totaled in 2020 to $1.2 billion. If compared with 2019, the volume has decreased by 4%.


    IN 2020, GEORGIA’S DEMAND FOR NATURAL GAS DECREASED BY 1%

    Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission reported that household consumption of natural gas in the country totaled in 2020 to 1.12 billion cubic m. Gas consumption for non-household purposes totaled to 1.37 billion cubic m, including heat power stations’ consumption of 614 million cubic m.


    ALLOCATIONS OF ECONOMY MINISTRY INCREASE BY 5.6%

    Draft amendments to Georgia’s state budget-2021 envisage growth of allocations of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development by 36 million lari (by 5.6%), if compared to the initial plan, so that the volume will make up 642.8 million lari.

    The draft amendments are being considered currently in the Parliament.


    WORKS, ENVISAGED BY FOREST CODE, TO BE CARRIED OUT IN 3 REGIONS OF GEORGIA, BEING FUNDED WITH 47M EUR

    Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture announced that works, envisaged by the Forest Code (adopted in 2020), will be carried out in 3 regions of the country with funding, amounting to 47 million EUR.

    Out of total funding, 33 million EUR are requested by Georgia from Green Climate Fund.

    3 COMPANIES PLAN TO INVEST 31.7M LARI IN DEVELOPMENT OF TBILISI GAS NETWORK IN 2021-2025

    Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission reported that it gave consent in 2020 to 5-year investment plans on development of gas distribution networks, presented by 3 companies – Tbilisi Energy, Varketilairi (Varketili Gas) and Didi Digomi.

    In 2021-2025, total investments of these companies have amount to 31.7 million lari, the Commission said.
