TODAY IS THE 8TH ANNIVERSARY FROM THE BEGINNING OF GEORGIAN-ABKHAZ ARMED CONFLICT
According to the official data, as a result of armed clashes in 1992-1993 years around 16,000 people perished, 10,000 out of them were Georgians and 4,000 – Abkhazians. In the fall 1993, after Abkhaz formations took Sukhumi, around 300,000 people (around 60% of the population) had to leave Abkhazia.
RED CROSS REPRESENTATIVES CAPTURE IN PANKISI CANYON RELEASED
