    EUROPEAN COMMISSIONER VARHELYI: WE ARE INTERESTED IN PARTNERSHIP IN TERMS OF RELIABLE ENERGY SUPPLIES FROM GEORGIA

    The message I brought to Georgia is that we want to have a partnership in terms of reliable energy supplies from Georgia, declared Oliver Varhelyi, European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, at the news briefing in Tbilisi today. We want this initiative to strengthen energy security in Georgia, the Caucasus and Europe, he said.


    GEORGIAN REVENUE SERVICE: 606 CASES OF RETURN OF SANCTIONED GOODS FROM CUSTOMS CHECKPOINTS HAVE BEEN RECORDED

    After imposition of international sanctions against Russia, 606 cases of return of sanctioned goods from customs checkpoints were recorded, Georgian Revenue Service reported.

    Besides, 160 cases of refusal to oral/written requests regarding intention to export or re-export such goods were revealed in the zones of economic registration, the Service noted.


    CONCEPT OF ECONOMIC STRENGTHENING OF WOMEN TO BE INITIATED IN GEORGIA

    “In near future, the concept of economic strengthening of women will be initiated”, declared Nino Tsilosani, chair of the Georgian Parliament’s permanent council for gender equality.

    “It is important that this happens in a multi-party format and the document is signed by representatives of almost all political groups of the Parliament”, Tsilosani pointed at the Council meeting today.

    ADJUSTED DATA: GEORGIA’S GDP GROWTH IN 2021 MADE UP 10.5%

    Sakstat released adjusted data, according to which, Georgia’s real GDP growth in 2021 made up 10.5%. The change in the deflator made up 10.3%.


    RESULTS OF ENPARD IMPLEMENTATION IN GEORGIA HAVE BEEN SUMMED UP

    At the conference “LEADER: A European Approach to Better Rural Lives”, held in Tbilisi today, the results of the European Neighborhood Program for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD) were summed up.

    ENPARD, funded by the EU with 234.5 million EUR, has been implemented in Georgia for 10 years.


    GEORGIA AND IFC DISCUSSED COOPERATION ISSUES

    Today, Georgia’s Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili met in Tbilisi with Rana Karadsheh, regional director for Europe of the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

    The parties discussed issues of cooperation between Georgia and IFC, the Finance Ministry said.


    AFD ALLOCATES 100M EUR TO GEORGIA

    The French Development Agency (AFD) will allocate 100 million EUR to Georgia for human capital development. The corresponding agreement was signed in Tbilisi today.


    TBILISI CITY HALL: REHABILITATION OF KETEVAN TSAMEBULI AVENUE HAS BEEN COMPLETED

    The rehabilitation of Ketevan Tsamebuli Avenue in Isani district has been completed and traffic has been fully restored on the roadway, reported Tbilisi City Hall.

    The City Hall pointed that rehabilitation was financed from Tbilisi budget with 8.5 million lari.
