    STATE MINISTER OF GEORGIA WILL LEAVE FOR JAPAN ON AN OFFICIAL VISIT

    During the visit, which will be held on December 16 – 23, the meetings will be held at the ministries of foreign affairs, industry and international trade of Japan and Tokyo municipality. The meetings at Eximbank and Itochu Corp.


    THE ABKHAZIAN SEPARATISTS ARE GOING TO HOLD ELECTIONS IN THE LOCAL BODIES OF SELF-GOVERNMENT

    Law on the local bodies of self-government was adopted at a December 11 session of Parliament of self-proclaimed Abkhazian Republic. The session marked, that according to the May 14, 1994, agreement on ceasing fire, Gali Region of Abkhazia is considered a frontier zone.

    THE LOADING-UNLOADING WORK AT BATUMI AND POTI PORTS

    At present 2 ships with 4,600 t of petroleum and 1,300 t of flour, intended for Georgia, are being unloaded at Poti and Batumi ports. 2 ships with 4,000 and 2,500 tons of scrap metal are being loaded at the ports as well for shipping to Turkey.


    THE GEORGIAN BUILDING COMPANY WILL REALIZE THE WORK ON THE TERRITORY OF TSITELI KHIDI

    The Eurocommission has allocated a grant to the tune of 2 million ECU in the framework of TACIS program, in the capacity of an exclusion, on restoration of Tsiteli Khidi (Red Bridge), located on the frontier of Georgia withAzerbaijan, and building of a new bridge there as well.

    ABKHAZIAN CRIMINALS ARE HIDING THEMSELVES IN RUSSIA, RUSSIAN – IN ABKHAZIA

    According to the information Sarke has received from the reliable sources, the Georgian authorities are searching 87 criminals, accused of committing the grave offenses on the territory of Abkhazia. These persons have left for CIS countries, mainly for Russia.
