    GEORGIA AND JAPAN SIGNED AGREEMENT ON EXPORT AND INVESTMENTS INSURANCE

    Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported about signing of agreement on insurance of export and investments with Japan. The document was signed within Georgian delegation’s visit to Japan.


    PRIME MINISTER: OUR MARKET IS FULLY OPEN, ECONOMY – LIBERAL, WHILE LOCATION – STRATEGIC

    “Our market is fully open, economy – liberal, while location – strategic”, Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze declared at opening of Georgian-Japanese business forum in Tokyo. “Georgia in every sense is natural candidate for becoming regional and global business center”, he said.


    FAO ECONOMIST: DEFICIENCY OF MILK IN GEORGIA MAKES UP 165,000 T

    Andriy Yarmak, economist at the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), said that deficiency of milk in Georgia makes up 165,000 t. Respectively, the dairy sector is “a perfect opportunity for investments”, he noted.


    ISET-PI: THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE IS CHEESE, MADE AND SOLD BY UNREGISTERED FARMS

    The biggest challenge is cheese, made and regularly sold by unregistered family farms, Policy Institute of International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University (ISET-PI) considers. As the Institute notes, the unregistered households produce 90% of cheese in Georgia.


    PILOT PROJECT ON SEPARATED COLLECTING AND RECYCLING OF GREEN WASTE LAUNCHED IN MARNEULI

    Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported about launch with assistance of the EU of pilot project on separated collecting and recycling of green waste in Marneuli (Kvemo Kartli region).

    As the Ministry noted, the project envisages effective use of that green waste, which get on regional garbage dumps and which volume makes up about 50%.

    SAUDI “FLYNAS” TO LAUNCH FLIGHTS TO BATUMI

    Saudi Arabia’s low-cost airline Flynas launches operation on Riyadh-Batumi-Riyadh route, Georgian Civil Aviation Agency reported. The airline has appeared on Georgian market last year.


    LLC “SAKSPETSTRANSI” IS AUCTIONED FOR 2.86M LARI

    Georgian National State Property Agency reported that the state share of 100% in LLC Sakspetstransi (Georgian Special Transport, a construction company) is put on auction with the starting initial of 2.86 million lari. The action will expire on March 23.

    PROJECT OF COMMUNAL INTERNETIZATION LAUNCHED IN PSHAV-KHEVSURETI AND GUDAMAKARI

    Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported about agreement on state funding of the project of communal internetization in mountainous areas of Pshav-Khevsureti and Gudamakari (Mtskheta-Mtianeti region), signed today in Tbilisi Technology Park in Okrokana.

    The Ministry said that as a result of the project, 76 villages with 1,291 residents, including 4 high schools, will be connected to Internet.
