    IN JANUARY-MARCH, EXPECTED INDICATOR OF THE STATE BUDGET REVENUES IS EXCEEDED BY 8.6%

    For January-March, expected volume of the state budget revenues made up 2.43 billion lari, while factual mobilization made up 108.6% of the expected indicator, the government declared.

    Tax revenues amounted to 2.38 billion lari (the forecast is exceeded by 6.4%).


    RESEARCH RESULTS: DEMAND ON GEORGIAN MARKET IS ON LABOR FORCE WITH LOW AND AVERAGE QUALIFICATION

    Vacancy monitoring, conducted by Georgian Social Service Agency with assistance of the EU, shows that demand on Georgian labor market is for labor force with “low to medium levels of qualification”.

    At that, demand on labor force with professional education is relatively higher in regions, where it differs depending on specifics of particular region, says the research, which presentation was held today.


    REGULATING COMMISSION: ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION IN GEORGIA INCREASES ANNUALLY BY 4.4% ON AVERAGE, WHILE GENERATION – BY 3.5%

    Referring to data for 2007-2017, National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission reported that domestic electricity consumption in Georgia grows annually by 4.4% on average. In turn, generation increases annually by 3.5% on average.


    REGULATING COMMISSION: IN 2017, ELECTRICITY IMPORT 2.2 TIMES EXCEEDED EXPORT

    Report, released by National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission, indicates that in 2017, import of electric power exceeded export 2.2 times.

    According to the Commission, electricity import amounted to 1.5 billion kWh, increasing 3 times year-on-year, while export made up 685.7 million kWh, increasing by 22.7%.


    “SAKSTAT”: 44.7% OF FOREIGN VISITORS ARE 31-50 YEARS OLD

    In 2017, Georgia was visited by 7.9 million foreign travelers, whose number by 17.7% exceeded indicator of 2016, Sakstat reported.

    According to the study, published by Sakstat for the first time, 44.7% of visitors in the reporting year were 31-50 years old.


    INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENT FORUM GATHERED UP TO 500 DELEGATES

    Today, Tbilisi hosted the 2nd annual international investment forum named “Georgia – Land of Opportunities”. According to its organizer, Business Information Agency (BIA), the forum has gathered up to 500 delegates.


    PUBLIC REGISTER: WORKS ON NATIONAL NAVIGATION PROJECT ARE UNDERWAY IN AJARA AND GURIA

    Field works within the project of national navigation system’s development are conducted in Guria and Ajara, National Agency of Public Register reported. At the next stage, works will be conducted in Svaneti.

    PRIME MINISTER: INVESTMENTS IN “STAMBA HOTEL” TO AMOUNT TO $45M

    In Stamba Hotel, investment of $45 million is envisaged, Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili declared, while visiting today this hotel, recently opened in Tbilisi by Adjara Group.

    The Premier marked original style of the hotel, where “old and modern go well together” (the hotel is located in the building of Soviet-era publishing house, “stamba” in Georgian).
